I kinda wish Nintendo would offer digital downloads for higher resolution textures. Not talking like 4K, but something higher than what's in the game. It's pretty obvious that one of the ways they keep file sizes down is heavy texture compression.Just have a disclaimer that performance may be affected.

played the game with my gf. she got bored by the time we hit depth 500 or so, but we also collected all bananas in each layer. she came back for the resort level which she loved but quickly bounced off again after that. I gotta say I burned out too. in the end we/I only made it to depth 1200.I think the game's biggest problem is that it doesn't explore its own core mechanics in a meaningful way. there was that one very short branching path where they introduced a blue/pink material where whatever you destroy on the blue starts appearing on the pink and vice versa but this was literally only used in that 5 minute section and the only other mildly interesting terrain we encountered was the one that made you fly up while holding it. that's it. and finding the same kinds of bananas hidden in all the same kinds of places just gets stale. it also doesn't take long until you become completely immune to the game's casino effect of showering you with gold every 20 seconds. and while donkey kong can do some cool jumps like jump into surf into surf cancel into double jump into midair roll, there is basically next to no level geometry where platforming actually becomes a thing.super disappointing game imo, but i guess the voxel based destruction system is interesting.
I thought it was decent, but it wasn't as good as either odyssey or tropical freeze and I think I would've preferred a new entry in either of those. Didn't bother with the emerald whatsit, should've been free like luigi's balloon world.

I really wanted to like Bananza but there’s nothing really memorable about it. The worlds aren’t that interesting or creative, they’re just wide open spaces where you punch the ground.
