I think my issue with the series is that they never really managed to elevate the predator sections past some moderate improvements, mostly just feature additions. Combat and stealth through the lens of swashbuckling comicbook maneuvers was the genuinely interesting contribution of those games and to the end it remained kind of a shallow spamfest with too much automation and mindless get out of jail free cards. still good mind but by arkham origins, it was like ok I've seen the extent of what you're going to do with this.

I would even go as far as saying it can be fairly challenging, but only on hard mode and without hints. My only gripe with it is the super long range magnetism for punches on free flow. Why give you ranged options like the batarangs and batclaw when you can just dart across a giant room and hit the dude anyway. Really baffling design decision to not put a bigger limit on the range for strikes and they stuck with that for all games so it was clearly intentional. It looks retarded and drastically lowers the skill ceiling. My guess is they were afraid of making the combat too technical by having players consider the range of their attacks. At the end of the day it's supposed to be a casual game.
