There's no money in piracy. There's a ton of money in anti-piracy software. Do the math. Nobody with skill has any interest in working their ass off for no gain whatsoever other than minor internet fame and maybe a trip to jail depending on who you piss off. Certainly not when you could just go use those security skills to get employed at a security company keeping people out for tons of cash, rather than letting them in for free.
There simply is no incentive beyond spite. Piracy died because anti-piracy technology stopped just being a code in your CD box. While denuvo is not universal and rapes performance, eventually somebody will come up with something that can be injected into almost any game with minimal effort with negligible or zero impact on performance. Then it will be truly dead because even indie games will pay a $1k one-time fee to ensure their game is impossible to pirate.
The sad truth is that the future isn't going to be a cool cyberpunk dystopia, it's just going to be gray and boring and everyone will be poor.

At this point it would be in Denuvo's best interest to stage a falseflag by distributing a malware version of hypervisor, to destroy trust in it. Just saying.

>>
>>736398458
Its a rootkit. That's not FUD, its literally how it works.
So there's different permission rings on your computer. Things run in user mode. So a program can execute and it can call things from the operating system kernel but it cant change them. That's most things you run.
Above that is kernel mode. These are things like Denuvo who sit at the same privilege level as your core operating system functions and it can monitor everything in user mode. Its why cracking it is extremely difficult.
A HV bypass sits above kernel mode. It sits in the privilege levels reserved for bootloader and BIOS. It has full control over your hardware, your operating system, everything. It can modify anything it wants on your machine and cannot be removed with a hard disk change or operating system wipe. It is the singular most dangerous thing I've ever seen released in the scene and I think people who install it are nuts.

Oh, on top of this, it also disables a shit ton of protections that your computer has in place to make sure you dont install rootkits in the first place.

That doesn't matter anon. Think of it like a modified BIOS that you flash (its not, there are differences but its helpful if you dont understand the tech).
Your BIOS runs at every boot. It controls your PC. Swapping hard drives won't fix your BIOS. Disconnecting for a while won't change your BIOS. You cant uninstall a BIOS. Once its there, its there forever.
>>
I did try it out for Crimson Desert. It did work. But there was some weird shit happening even after I disabled when I turned HDR on or off, it would freeze my CPU. Like I could still use my mouse, but no windows would react.

Even after I deleted the game, made sure everything was reverted to normal it persisted. I updated my Nvidia drivers and it seemed to have solved the problem, no issues for 3 days now. Maybe it was a driver issue, dunno.

But I'm not gonna try the Hypervisor way again I don't think. Just too much bullshit to go through and my backlog is already insane so I should play games I already own.

>>
>>736400367
Nobody has any idea if it does anything bad because its closed source.
Your mental model isnt quite right. How would you know if your BIOS is compromised? You wouldn't. Anti viruses are software level. There's no way for anything to report that something bad is happening because a HV bypass sits above the operating system and can modify every call, from keystroke to network packets. It could silently add exceptions to antiviruses. It can modify service host, it can fake any messages it wants. All modern protection systems sit inside the operating system. This sits outside it and can do what it wants internally, silently.
A HV bypass isn't THAT far removed from how the CIA hacked the Iranian nuclear programme years ago.

Lies of P 1.1.2.0 (first build). I used Atomic heart HV crack files since both games use the same engine build hence the same folder structure and framework. I got a token string from offline activation and pasted it into the config, which then auto-generates a bin file depending on what CPU you have. You now have the old build preserved forever offline

Denuvo is just going to figure out some arbitrary code to run with different speeds/outcomes depending on the type of processor and use that as a check to verify the CPUID and detect spoofing from a Hypervisor VM.

Then the bypass method will be useless, but on the bright side millions of PCs will have joined the FSB botnet

Why? It's not hard to do if you have a PC, especially if the game doesn't have DRM like the playstation ports or gog games
It's silly to say it's about money, the thing is, that option exists, and it's good to take advantage of something that's hard to do on consoles, that's the whole point of having a PC in the first place, to do things you can't do on consoles

>Is this the future of piracy
No, it is very much the present of piracy. The right here, right now of piracy. I believe there are only a handful of denuvo protected games remaining that haven't gotten an HV bypass yet, but surely every last denuvo protected game will have an HV bypass before this month is out.

I'm not shilling anything. Hypervisor is lazy and pathetic and you idiots finally killed the actual scene

>No more cracks, just bypasses
There hasn't been proper cracks for over a decade by now.
Even back in the day StarForce was never cracked by the scene, it was all shitty bypasses instead that no longer work on modern Windows. It took a decade until some russian autist finally made the first proper crack for a StarForce game.
And once NUKE-worthy bypasses were made acceptable it was all downhill from there. Nobody is cracking even basic Steamworks protection these days, it's all just drag-n-drop emulators.
The golden age of piracy ended with Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

There's so many games to potentially care about, Denuvoslop shouldn't even be a priority.

It's a pretty dead giveaway if, for example, you try to engage cpu cores that don't actually exist on the machine. If you're going to be that lazy just don't ever disable it then you don't have to reboot the reason to reboot is to interrupt it at boot to do the bypass after disabling stuff and the reboot after turns it all back on because that's the responsible thing to do and was one of the demands from cs
>>
>>736410579
Why bother cracking steamworks individually for every game when you can just emulate it for every game and it works fine and takes zero effort after the initial creation. it's kind of a retarded thing to get hung up on
>>
>>736412246
>The token is generated on the machine
Anon if we could generate valid denuvo tokens we wouldn't need a hypervisor.
There is a REAL valid token for hardware that is not the end user's hardware, so if the process runs expecting the result that matches the spoofed hardware but gets the result from the real hardware (because spoofing is not emulating) the check fails.
Then it becomes >>736411061 with crackers figuring out how to fake the checks and Denuvo implementing new ones.

That is exactly what the spoofer does. It makes the server hand out a valid hardware token based on the spoofed system.

The hardware token takes various sets of data that denuvo sees and issues a token based on that. However what denuvo sees is the spoofed system, so the token being handed is based on the spoofed system.
Since the spoofer doesn't touch any IDs and only changes security checks there is nothing the hardware token can validate against because there is no difference between what denuvo sees in a spoofed system and a legit system.

Denuvo asks "Is there a hypervisor in this system and is the CPU real?" Spoofer intercepts the call, changes the answer on the hypervisor to no, but returns the real CPUID. Denuvo only sees the real CPU and that is what it validates. Etc.

Because cracking didn't use to be about just gobbling together something that might work today on specific hardware and software configurations, it used to be about street cred among nerds. Showing to others that you were the best, and the fastest.
Now it's all about just enabling piracy, even if just for a brief period. Who gives a shit if these terrible bypasses don't work in six months or after the next Windows update, people just don't wanna pay for these games today.
>>
