which is better?

Third Strike

FADC

drive rush is better and leads to more vareity and mix ups, V-trigger is the opposite and feels like it's always activated and used in the same scenario. In SFV a character feels like a neutered version of themselves until the use VT. VT is too often used in the same ways for multiple characters.

Scat Fightert was never good

The V-System is interesting because it brought something unique to each character. And it had to be built up during the match before you could activate it.
Slime Rush sucks because it's the same thing across the roster. It's always either combos getting dragged out longer than they deserve, or screwing up frame data to make moves safe on block. And it was always maxed out at the start of the round, so you pretty much expect to see it used up at the start of each round. Heat Mode has the exact same problems in Tekken 8, but that one at least offers different buffs across characters and shuts down after you use it. FADC was also just as bad on some characters, but it wasn't as effective across the whole roster.

v trigger stinks because the v meter only goes up by taking damage so its always this fake forced comeback mechanic
>>
Vskill good, Vtrigger bad.
I wish you could choose to swap Vskill at the start of each round

SFV really made my blood boil but it was way better than sf6. SF6 made me realize I don't want to play fighting games any more. SFV feels like it was the start of that monthly patch shit where they had to constantly mix up the meta though, I just knew that game was gunna be dead as shit the second Capcom stopped pumping fomo into it. I really have no idea what the future of fighting games holds at this point, but the way people treat them makes me feel the future is pretty grim. I think the mod here has an active disdain for people playing fighting games and just wants to talk about fighting the cpu and porn, and a lot of these younguns really have no context for what fighting games used to be like before all the cancer came in. And some rather unscrupulous back stabbers have seized control of the western fgc. So all in all my perception is that things are unpleasant. If you're on fightcade, if you're playing good players and learning shit, that's good, keep doing that shit while you still can, don't be like those people who just pick one dead anime game and play in a small circle jerk of their friends forever, but man I just don't know any more. Things look way too grim, every time I feel like coming back I thing about that shit and just immediately lose all desire to do it.

V-Trigger was a pretty sweet wrestling move until Kenny got washed

V Trigger got decent near the end of the game but it never beat the "you finally are allowed to have fun" allegations.
DR hate is overrated but game needs something fresh badly
>>
The game peaked with Alpha 2

both are bad but for different reasons, but the drive system homogenizes the cast way too much and makes zoner archetypes hard to implement
