There's a Reddit thread from like a week ago where someone got Trellis 2 running on a 9070XT but it took 5 times as long as the operation takes on a standard 4080.. everything speaks tiny-cuda-nn or utilizes nvidia-centric rasterization kernels and when your card has to spend time breaking that down into a language that it can understand + equipment transfer speed you inevitably end up losing out. That's a huge step up though, AMD users couldn't even do local image gen or set up a limited chat bot not too long ago.
