Have you ever considered the slight possibility that game devs (or in case of big AA vidya companies, specific employees) actually monitor and check forums or pages like these more often than we think, to the point of noticing and/or analyzing possible plot theories of our own and modifying the final product as a result (specially this last point in the case of a series planning their sequel?
The thought both inspires me and terrifies me. The former due to the idea of us anons still somewhat capable of influencing vidya storytelling or development, and the latter due to the off chance of us ruining potentially good plots because a gamedev saw we already figure out some surprise twist and deciding to change it, even if its a good one, just to keep the surprise factor and the last word.

Then again, maybe i'm just thinking a wee bit too much

Do you have a single fact to back that up?

Of course not, it's clearly a schizo theory of my own. But it would somewhat explain usual delays for game releases or some shitty nonsense endings

Don't be silly anon, we at Microsoft would never monitor forums of our players to collect data.
