I actually really don't think it's coming. As we saw with the 3+4 remake they didn't give enough of a shit and/or have the budget to add the mission structure from 4. They definitely couldn't get away with doing the same thing to THUG. If they wanted to do it right they would probably have to make an entirely new game engine or extensively modify the 1+2/3+4 one to be able to have NPC missions and load the necessary elements in and out of the map which would take work which would cost money and Activision seems pretty disinterested in spending more than the bare minimum on games that aren't CoD.

If they do remake it it'll probably be a really bastardized reimagining or maybe I could see them doing a touched up HD port. What I think is more likely though is them just making a new THPS game with the 1+2/3+4 engine, new maps and new skaters but still the classic timer style. For what it's worth I actually didn't mind the 3+4 remake not having 4's missions, most of the missions in 4 are pretty throw away and on the whole I prefer what they did with them in the remake. Still a little upset they cut Carnival and turned Kona into a comp level.

I recall the 3+4 devs actually saying they are THUGPRO/reTHAWed fans, would be cool if they hired those dudes to help them make a remaster that adds all the shit from those mods.
