Ran across this secret of mana music because I only listen to melancholic tracks nowWorth playing this game? Is it eternal like ff6 and chronohttps://youtu.be/y9wn8UaglxE
>>736399730definitely rough around the edges with a pretty weird combat system, but a classic nonethelessenulate the snes version and try it
Yes, it is. Secret of Mana is one of SNES big ones, a classic. It also aged well because of it's real time combat.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgSRzOC3_eo
>>736399730>I...only listen to melancholy now....after the... accident
>>736399730Play the third one, it's better in everyway, seiken Densetsu 3. It's on switch. Or just emulate it with a translation patch. The 2D version of course
>>736399730It starts off real strong but it falls off because the game was supposed to be utilized by a SNES expansion hardware that never came to fruition, so they had to cut the scope of the game significantly. That said it is fun and the game is beautiful with one of the best soundtracks of any videogame.Fun fact: The shit on the cutting room floor became the genesis of Chrono Trigger.
>>736400223What's wrong with the 3D version?
>>736399730https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orc-6nskrAo
It's a buggy mess. People parrot it's a good game because the 10 weebs who played it in the 90s said so and established a reputation for SoM. It's waaaay worse than other games in the series like Legend of Mana or SD3.
>>736400496Sounds kino brother. Thanks for sharing. I will atleast give the game a try now since I love good osts
>>736399730It's kinda janky but worth a playno not on the level of FF6 or CT
>>736400408should i play the 3d one?
>>736399730Bit messy but not a bad game. Having to wait around for your attack gauge to recharge gets annoying, and spells break the game because they pause combat. It's one of the only co-op RPGs on the SNES which is probably why it's remembered so fondly, that and the music.
Terrible, terrible, terrible boss fights. Everything else is pretty neat.
>>736402932>>736399730Also you should play Terranigma if you haven't I'd rank it among FF6 and Chrono Triggerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3mqIDAVObA
>>736402987> Was never released in AmericaWhat is the weeb shit
I've never played this game but I've been considering buying a large print of the tree imageshit's nice
>>736403058Enix closed its North American branch in 1995 so the game's English release was PAL only
>>736399730It’s basically if Kingdom Hearts came out in the 90s in terms of gameplay
>>736400408>>7364027943D SD3/Trials of Mana is a Sidegrade at best. The SNES original still holds up really well. Also the fan translation is nostalgic for me personally and the font isn’t microscopic like in the official translation.
>>736399730I really like this and it was one of my favourite games, i still have the snes cartridge. Saying that i got completely lost as what to do after the flammie / santa storyline
>>736400110>It also aged well because of it's real time combat. It aged like dogshit because of its clunky, unresponsive superficially-real-time-but-actually-round-based-under-the-hood combat.
>>736403065kek
>>736399730I really like the game, but it has some serious flaws. It's worth trying, but don't expect much depth from the combat.>>736400574SD3 and Legend have pretty similar flaws as SoM, and Legend manages to have far worse combat somehow. The developers didn't seem to learn anything from SoM.>>736402794I like it better than the original.
