What do you think of Metroid Prime 3?
>>736400368Not quite as good as Prime 1 and 2 but not bad eitherKinda the same way I feel about 4 but it's "Not quite as good as 1, 2, and 3"The series just peaked instantly and then declined. Whatever
Very weak, weakest game in the prime series alongside hunters, skytown and some songs from the OST are great.Prime 4 is unironically better, even with all the problems, they are both ultra linear, but at least the locations from 4 are cooler.Fuck norion, fuck bryyo, fuck pirate homeworld, boring as fuck.
>>736400519So basically 1>2>3>4
>>7364006102>1>>>4>>3
The worst of the series. As a kid I couldn't get over the amount of npcs. It just took me out of the world.
>>736400368I think it's underrated but it's still the worst prime game.Oh wait not anymore now that we have prime 4.
>>736400368Metroid Prime 4 is better
>>736400603Pirate homeworld was kino, you are smoking some kind of nasty shit bro. Nothing in MP4 comes close to it.
2 > 1 > 4 > 3
>>736400368I liked it, wish it was 1 planet longer.
Not as good as the first two but still a great game Compared to Prime 4 and other modern games it’s fantastic It’s a genuine 9/10 game while the best of Metroids are 9.4+. It’s enjoyable and fun, doesn’t live up to the previous two but it’s still good. It’s kinda like RE8 or Fallout 3 where its got major flaws but overall 9/10+Best parts of the game are the Pirate Homeworld and the intro music
>>736400368I wasn't the biggest fan of power beam upgrades becoming permanent without being able to switch between them. As far as the worlds go, Skytown is the only memorable and good planet. The Pirate Homeworld could've been better. Finding all of the batteries is more of a chore than the sky temple keys. The final part with Samus overdosing on Phazon and having to rush to the final boss while spamming the fire button in a frenzy while fighting it was actually really well done. I just wish the rest of the game could've been better.
>>736400603>>736400610>>736400943>>736401075>>736401114Kys
>>736401554you first, unc
>>736400368It’s way worse than 4 but nostalgia blinds everyone to pretend is not
>>736400368Wrong direction, less moody like MP1-MP2 and more energetic like MP4
2>3>1 3 is overhated because of its structure and story but it ironically has the most ambitious combat of any metroid because your health matters.you know, in a game series where you always have too much health to feel threatened. thats cool. its a shame they didnt get the balancing and damage scaling right because I really liked what they were going forprime 1 is overrated as fuck because the navigating felt like ass, going through magmoor so many times. and I thought the combat played it too safe with stun locking beams, soall combat feels just a waste of time (especially on repeat playthroughs) and you start just face tanking through rooms ignoring enemies completely. this take always makes someone mad so I just thought id clarify why I put prime 1 last
>>736403337i forgot to mention 4 because I hated it so much. Fuck that game, im so glad I pirated it. $0 out of my wallet 2>3>1>4
>>736400368People overhate it, outside of the intro and the assault on the final base the GF isnt present at all. I also thought it used motion controls well, its hard to go back to L targeting
Prime 3 is so much worse than 4 it's not even funny. Everyone in this thread saying 3 is better clearly hasn't played it recently. It's even more linear, power ups and upgrades are just placed without any thought on the critical path, there are characters that talk to you about as much or more than 4, shitty motion controls are forced onto you with no alternative(no they're not better than regular controls I'm sick of this lie the fandom has been pushing for years), there's way more hand holding than 4, the atmosphere is nonexistent at least 4 looks nice everywhere except the desert, I could go on. Prime 3 is one of the worst entries in the franchise, Other M is unironically better.2>1>4 end of discussion.
>>736400368It was the game that made me take the Wii seriously, but it's not as good as the first two.>love the art direction>love getting Screw Attack relatively early even if it doesn't work that well with the level design>motion controls are comfortable and used in satisfying ways>hyper Mode is okay, kind of don't like how nerfed the regular beams feel in comparison though>hate the split up planet structure, especially Bryyo>hate the boss design now focusing on precision shooting instead of mechanics>not a fan of the upgrades mostly being "Your grapple beam/missiles can now open a new colour of door" with little intrinsic valueI'm glad it exists even though it's a step down from 2
>>736400368I enjoyed it quite a bit. Going to multiple planets was actually pretty fun even if it was ruined by not actually being isolated and trapped like in the first 2 games. Removal of beam swapping and super missile combos was really fucking dumb though. Prime 2 is a 9.5/10, prime 1 is a 9/10 and prime 3 is 8/10 is how I would put it
>>736400368
It's fine. Worse than 2 which was worse than 1, but still fine. Definitely better than 4 though. 4 basically has all of 3's problems done worse plus more of its own
>>736400368The motion controls absolutely fuck.
>>736403337>but it ironically has the most ambitious combat of any metroid because your health matters.>you know, in a game series where you always have too much health to feel threatened. thats cool. its a shame they didnt get the balancing and damage scaling right because I really liked what they were going forSo it doesn't work, and you're giving it freebies for having a concept of an attempt
Sex with balls
>>736400368Solid game held down a bit by a reliance on "it's a Wii game, it needs motion gimmicks" and a bit too much talking. Just a TINY bit too much dialogue, it's not as bad as people like to say.Uh, not just motion gimmicks, I guess, it also had that weird sticker thing where you could customize your ship, which I thought was a bit weird; I liked it, but it was weird, and adult-me wouldn't want the stickers. Also, anyone that rates the franchise posting anything but 1>2>3>4 or 2>1>3>4 is either trolling or they have bad taste.
>>736400368The combat was pretty good, especially since it's a shooter with motion controls in the mid-2000's. The Metroid part is supremely disappointing. You'll get taken to the next "level" because the story says so, not because you got a new item. The story is generally front and center with Samus listening to people talk and even do a show-and-tell. The motion controls outside of combat are insanely annoying, where you'll have to use them to open a door or move to a different area or whatever.

>>736406827Hunters wasn't THAT bad, especially if you look at it through the lens of being a full 3D Metroid "Prime" game on the OG DS and how it had fuckin' online multiplayer that people liked. The only real complaint I had about it was that the bosses sucked and had no variety unless you REALLY stretch the term and include the other hunters. No joke I'd swap it and MP4 on your list.Prime 4 is literally the only Metroid-anything to actually make me upset. Other M (and Federation Force) was some misguided attempt at freshening up the franchise by a guy that doesn't know what Metroid fans want, which is pretty stupid, but just kinda harmless, like some shit spinoff made by a third party dev.Compare that to Prime 4, a numbered Prime game hyped for like a decade, where Nintendo ignored everything they learned from Other M, and spent a fuckload of money and time on a game developed by people drowning in red flags, specifically throwing Metroid fans under the bus to appeal to a wider audience that was never going to buy it, and releasing the most empty, most worthless game of the franchise with the least amount of content and probably the worst plot out of the games that have a plot. Bonus: fuck Sylux in particular. What makes it worse is that reveal that they cut a fuckload of dialogue from the feds late into development, probably as a reaction to players universally hating Myles. The fact they thought you needed hours of dialogue from companions people didn't ask for in the first place, spending all that time and money to make that shit, shows just how little Nintendo even knows about its own franchise.
>>736400368Samus regularly fucked ice aliens back in her prime (that's like 3 space weeks before SM or whatever who keeps tabs on how old samus is lmao)
>>736401090Dogshit area, dogshit music.
>>736403337>it ironically has the most ambitious combat of any metroid because your health matters*hypermodes your argument*
>>736400368Noticeable step down from 1/2 but still a great game
>>736406732Putting the NES Metroid that high is a horrible decision, it's the kind of game I play like Zelda II where it just feels so ass to go through, and it's not like all old games in a series are like that, Star Fox still holds up decently. OG Metroid always makes me surprised the series got a sequel but maybe for people when it released it was different since they didn't have anything else to go off of.
