I haven't played a Souls game since Dark Souls 1. I just beat the Tree Sentinel after like 30 attempts, here's my assumptions about Elden Ring:

>Dodge rolls are broken
>Aggression is rewarded, defense is punished
>The game doesn't play fair, so everything is fair game
>It's fundamentally a shitty, poorly designed game begging to be broken and abused

ER is actually the most fair Souls game because all builds are now viable. You can actually do a shield build and it'll work.

Didn't they work in dark souls 2 as well? Since a lot of the bosses were just dudes in armor.
