I've never played Pop'N Music, is it fun? How do I get started?
>>
>>736403061
Wouldn't know, never played it.
>>
>>736403061
>is it fun?
Yes

>How do I get started?
Do you have an arcade you can play it at? Or do you mean playing it at home?
>>
>>736403170
Yeah, there's a round 1, I just never tried it
>>
>>736403061
>How do I get started?
typically by inserting a credit and pressing the red button
>>
It's fun, but much like IIDX, it is INCREDIBLY unforgiving to newcomers and absolutely requires you to put in the time and effort to get good at the game. If you're already into IIDX, you'll probably be able to get the hang of the basics pretty quick, especially now that they have a IIDX style note skin.

Fair warning: Your hands are going to hurt like a MOTHER FUCKER after about an hour of play. You'll have to spend time breaking in your hands, and learning how to hit the buttons without causing pain.

on my rhythm game tier list it's fairly low down, to be honest. But it's fine, give it a go and see how you feel about it

>>
>>736403674
Does your Round 1 have two cabs as well? I heard that all stores received two of them.
>>
>>736403703
I haven't been recently enough to know. but someone on FB said they're getting them
>>
>>736403674

>>736403901
you havent played popn?
>>
>>736403901
Oh shit, forgot about Wacca (RIP)

Slap Wacca somewheres in B tier because I have an affinity for hardcore tano*c
>>
>>736403939
Ah shit, I forgot about that one as well. To be fair, so far I've only played it for like one 2-3 hour session. I feel like I haven't played enough of it to judge it, but I'll put pop'n in B tier for now to be safe
>>
>>736403901
Maimai is so fucking boring, I have no idea why it's so popular
>>
>>736403901
SSS+ AB+FB Tier
>O.N.G.E.K.I
>>
>>736404115
Slap beeg buttons, feel good. Plus there's some honest to god dance choreography in the charting that's really fun to pull off.

>>736404161
Tell Sega to send us some fucking cabinets and I'll consider playing it. And while you're at it, tell them to give us US servers for fucking Chunithm for fucks sake. Or at least a proper offline version that isn't gimped to all hell.

>I've never played Pop'N Music, is it fun? How do I get started?
Yes. It's pretty comparable in difficulty to 2dx or sound voltek, except at thei very high end, but with very cute controls and graphics.

>>736403572
As anon says, Don't let the cute controls fool you. You get to pick your own difficulty, but even very easy shit will fuck you up.

Pretty straightforward. Go to round one start playing. Start off fucking easy. If you like it, go and buy an E-amuse card at the front desk. I strongly suggest you register your card on the Japanese side.

World got a UI upgrade.

No Cracking DJ? DanceManiax? martial beat? Nostalgia? Chunrytim? Taiko no Tatsujin? Mambo a gogo?
>>
>9 buttons
i feel like im missing some fundamental hand-eye coordination because anything beyond 4 lanes is simply too much for me to comprehend
>>
>>736407049
same wtf?

>>
>>736407278
wait, this made me realize it's kinda like playing the bass clef with left hand and treble clef with right hand on the piano
>>
>>736407049
>>736407278
Because you are. it's like digit span. Go play keyboard mania, or nostaglia, or churytyhim. Failing that, try 2dx double mode.

modded PS2 is the only option for bemani

PS2 pop'n controllers were once sought after but i feel like they should be cheap now, but with the scalper fags ruining everything they might be 100 dollars idk

its really not hard to build your own arcade sized one either if you really want to get autistic, this was a common thing in the bemani community 16 years ago
>>
>>736407049
It just takes time.
The buttons being in two rows helps, if they were all in a line then I'd actually feel like it's too much
>>
>>736407640
Isn't there a korean or chinese new USB pop controller being made for about 250?
>>
>>736407640
>modded PS2 is the only option for bemani
this nigga stuck in 2007
It's never been easier to run cracked bemani games on PC and it's also never been easier to get the rips
