Who's the intended audience for VR?
>>736403670EveryoneI'm mad that this AI shit is replacing VR I remember /v/ talked about VR as much as they did AI it was like the AI of the late 2010s and now no one talks about VR at all. VR is fucking cool. Being inside of a game is really cool Concept to begin with
Why are there so many videos of people acting like retards with AI? I saw one where the uploader's friend jumped into his tv and destroyed the screen.
>>736403923Sony killed my interest when they released a completely shit headset with no backwards compatibility. Fuck the psvr2. Fuck it to hell.
>>736403670I just want there to be a fun space exploration game that isn't jank on it
>>736403670I don't think they've worked that out yet. And with AI having supplanted VR I think they might never work it outThe total lack of VR content really did make it difficult to convince anyone that VR was for them
vr will only take off if phone vr was good or if light cheap vr was a thing
>>736403670Bottom homosexuals
>>736403670It was intended for everyone but when they first were coming out they were expensive as hell and there weren't to many killer apps to make people go out and get one, and the specs needed to run it on a pc were demanding. Now there's a few affordable options that and a few must have games, but vr is stuck in a self fulfilling loop of not enough titles coming out for it meaning people aren't buying vr leading to companies not making a lot of games and so on. It sucks because vr is legitimately cool and still has a lot of untapped potential.
VR just doesn't have good games. Even the best of the best like Half Life Alyx just has this weird cheapness to it that I just can't be properly immersed or invested in. Unironically I think the best use for VR is stuff like VR Chat. IMO there should be more VR games that just play completely normally with a normal controller and all, even using the right stick for the camera which is what I end up doing for any VR game that lets me. I enjoy the full FOV and 3D aspect of VR far more than having arm and hand controls. The VR Astro Bot game was probably the best VR game I played because it was just a normal 3rd person 3D platformer.
>>736404245get fucked, consoomer droneI can't think of a single sony product which isn't overpriced garbageyou have only yourself to blame
>>736403670Me.Where's my fucking frame, Gabe? It's April. That's "early 2026".What the fuck am I waiting for?
>>736403670
>>736405493>Unironically I think the best use for VR is stuff like VR Chat.I agree with this and would add first-person simulation games to it. Anything where "immersion" is the primary point of the game benefits greatly from a VR headset. I've heard Skyrim VR with a bunch of immersive mods is also good, but I think that heavily depends on the player themselves to make it happen.
>>736407335What a badass
>>736406184Except astro bots playroom is one of the best games ever made for vr, you nigger.
>>736409824Er, not playroom, rescue mission.
>>736403670People with a shitload of money to waste on VR, who don't get motion sickness, have a room with lots of space in their house, and are willing to play lots of VR ripoffs of popular games instead of the real thing.
>>736403670>FNAF VRI could not do this shit. I am a massive fucking pussy.
>>736410003>can play fucked up games like Saya no Uta just fine>too scared to play FNAFWhy am i like this? I guess because I can't stand jumpscares
>>736407335>House that looks like a motel room >Expensive set-ups >Animals in cages >Probably twelve people living the house House of sin and debauchery
>>736407432>VR chatMetaverse is dead, anon.
>>73640367050-year-old flight simmers
>>736407335>Dogs in cageI don't get it, this sound like hell
>>736407335I've never understood owning a dog if you're going to keep it in a cage/never let it come indoors
>>736403670haha do you think she pee'd a little bit?
Gamers wanted VR ports of existing cool gamesDevelopers were either too stupid to make good VR ports, or smart enough but wanted to make VR originals insteadPublishers didn't want to spend money on VR originals so they all had shoestring budgetsVR companies had no interest in games or improving their software and just wanted to sell a device to every white collar worker to astroturf some faggot future where everyone teleworks to a virtual conference room and buys virtual real estateEvery advancement in VR hardware or software was personally accomplished by either Palmer Luckey, Gaben, or John Carmack who do it for the love of the grind and are completely emotionally detached from the success or failure of the industry overallAfter all was said and done the only good VR games were Beat Saber and Blade & Sorcery, which were only made serviceable by the mod sceneNot even VR porn was any good because it's all filmed with a regular 360 camera and the viewing experience basically projects the recording as a skybox with no depth perception where you can see the individual pixels. Also fuck that kike nigger who took down his Cyberpunk VR mod because he'd rather deprive the world of fun than give it away for free
>>736407335Well, speaking of dogs..Man, I miss seeing my ghost dog in VR. Maybe the option got turned off or something but when I first got it there was a branch in the awareness mode that if something wandered into the boundary there would be a hazy purple drawing of it in game. I remember playing the shit out of H3VR and looking down to reload and seeing the hazy outline of the dog hanging out on the couch. Either the detection got better since she is out of bounds or they stopped developing that part of the awareness mode because it's been like a year since I've seen the ghost dog. It made me laugh every time
