These were REAL, PROPER villains. The fuck happened, bros.
>>736404912I hate to use a term that the younger generation loves, but these guys really knew how to swag farm
>>736404912All the villains are done, all the bad guy tropes used up. There's no creativity left in the medium anymore.Whatever they do It's going to be derivativeSo they don't even try anymore
>>736404912Illidan wasn't a villain.
>>736404912You were a child, middle school at best, and impressionable
>duhhhh just ruined characters forever from the rts series and shit in their legacy by having a gnome named Fartlord be the one to get the finishing blow
>>736404912Those are heroes not villains
>>736404912>A cuck for 10,000 years on the left>A virgin that jobs to a human on the right.
>>736404912I wouldn't call Illidan a proper villain, in WC3 he's just a fuck-up anti-hero. In TBC he's nonsensical and underwritten. And when he does finally get writing, he's a hero that gets put into contrived anti-hero situations.
>>736404912None of them were villains until wow neede dsome raid bosses
Illidan ain't a villain. He's an enlightened atheist centrist.
>>736408928>in WC3 he's just a fuck-up anti-hero.>In TBC he's nonsensical and underwritten. What did you skip the whole Curse of the Blood Elves campaign mf?
Villains aren't evil enough, it's always some "safe evil" shit like taking over the world or destroying a city. Like where are the child rapist villains?
>>736404912Thought that their MMORPG was going to deliver an epic story to justify all the work that went into Warcraft 3 for one. To be fair no reason why they shouldn't have succeeded. It was around this time that the smarter developers figured out how lucrative the market for small mobile games was becoming. Blizzard lost their actual white old school coders due to that shift who would then go on to retire.
>>736411901I thought Xavier was great in Sengoku Rance for this exact reason, he gives you a reason to absolutely fucking hate him in addition to the usual villain stuff.
>>736411901this nigga complaining his pg-13 franchise doesn't have enough child rape
>>736411901You dont need them ingame if you already have them irl in the governments and banks. Literal satanism sounds like a villain to me chubby.
>>736404912>This is what /v/ considers a villain You should read a book.
>>736405216Millennials are almost 50 broski
>>736408595This. He's got turned into a raid boss at the Black Temple in the TBC because he "apparently lost it, replaying the last battle with Arthas in his mind, but where he comes out as a winner" yadda yadda corruption n shieet. It was promptly forgotten about later. To this day, I believe Arthas was the best villain they have ever written. Starts as a brazen, maverick prince of Lordaeron with truly a King's heart (none of that Anduin do-goodery shit) who would do everything to save his kingdom and his people... Only to become in fact the greatest, mortal threat to their existence (and not just theirs).I still remember that The Frozen Throne ending scene where he fused with what remained of the original Lich King. I was hype as fuck ever since then - not to defeat him, but I found the idea of Northrend cool as fuck. Lich King was always this sort of a "final boss" to me, since I didn't really see how would they bullshit Sargeras into getting fucked. I think everything after WotLK is just a disaster regarding world building. I liked MoP only because it had beautiful scenery in many zones in Pandaria (Valley of the Four Winds), also some pretty funny dungeons. It was the last time I saw them try do something genuinely interesting.
>>736412629me and the other 13 million?
>>736404912I like Warcraft's old characters, but they were hardly these one-of-a-kind lightning-in-a-bottle characters. They're basically the result of the original creative team being well versed in classic fantasy and sci-fi. For instance, I would argue that Arthas is mostly a mix of Fëanor and Elric. The problem is that the current creative team at Blizzard are just not the same as the old one. At times, I get the impression that they might not be fans of fantasy and sci-fi at all or (worse) they might be into modern fantasy shit. If Blizzard wants to bring the old Warcraft feeling back, they need to sit their creative team down with a bunch of classic sword and sorcery novels.
>>736408723Achshyully it was Tirion Fordring who got the finishing blow on Arthas.
They could have made Anduin a villian but its too late for that. They made him into an exhausted depressed coomer. Sad story, like blizzards story. Working at blizzard must be dystopic, all the good people left and now they are dragging on the franchise merely because its still a money printer. Actually its the consumers own fault if they still pay for it then they dont deserve better actually.
>>736412801literally whos?
>>736404912They sucked ass in WoW, we were just 14-18.
>>736404912not even the best villains though
but are they aura tho? i'm literally thanos, chat
>>736413104>Fëanor and Elric>literally whosCase in point. The newer generation don't read classic fantasy.
>>736413232>30 year oldyou wish, x-er. even millenials largely didn't read that slop.
>>736413120>you only thought a cool thing was cool because you were young! The eternal cope of the shitmonger
>>736404912I miss cool shit. When I play Night Elf I still see this, mates.
>>736413343GREENED
>>736413289>Millenials don't read the SilmarillionlmaoAnd the fact that people don't read it is the whole point! I'm saying that a lot of the newer characters and plotlines being shit is tied to the creative team reading garbage modern fantasy. So you saying that no one reads classic fantasy and sword and sorcery novels anymore is literally the whole problem!
>>736412912Nu-uh, it was my searing totem, I checked the logs
>>736413382>gen x faggotry intensifiesgot something to say about your parents next?
>>736405216It's called aura farming, unc.
>>736413232im 29 broski
>>736413563Which makes you younger than these guys.
>>736404912>illidan a villainI bet you think TBC illidan was peak, when in fact he was retconned in that expansion to pander to the audience that wanted to fight him as a raid boss. He was always meant to be an anti-hero, and they mostly fixed him in Legion because they knew fucked up it was to do him dirty like that in TBC.Tourist faggot.
>>736404912>Not actually a villain>Some brainwashed dude that isn't even actually evil, just got "oh no corrupted" by the meme jobber brigadeIf that's your concept of real proper villains, you are no better than the current day Midnight writers.
Garrosh was the best villain
>>736412629that was an early zoomer word.t. zoomer who grew up in that era, hating most slang
>>736413731so he's just like Tyler Swift
>>736413678notice the team is 33 people, 1 is a woman, 3-4 are asian, the rest are various nerdy white guys.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7x6M5rSdZc
>>736404912This is your threadly reminder that Arthas wasn't actually evil and got sentenced to oblivion by a blue bitch who conveniently forgot that he'd lived through the same hell she did.
>>736404912>The bad guy makes a lot of sense>The main character is just appeal to authority and judgesThat way there can be no bad people as that's usually offensive
>>736412098The gaping buttholes in Yoshi Island always give me flash backs
>>736404912these look like youtube inspiration ai generated thumbnails now
>>736404912You only fondly remember them, because Blizzard was burning their own creation to fuel themselves. Illidan was never supposed to be a villain. He is an anti-hero. The entire point is that he uses extreme methods to fight evil like splitting an entire continent open to destroy the Lich King, but he also wants power for himself and isn't completely selfless.
>>736404912Their writing was so strong...My childhood friend and I used to larp as them too (he was the Illidanfag while I was the Arthasfag)
>Illidan>Villain Just a soiboi who wanted to slam Tyrande
>>736413496All fax no printer them uncs did be eatin wit no crumbs
>>736404912Xalathath blows both of them out of the water. She is the most baddest, meanest, most villanous villain to ever grace fiction.Other villains WISH they were as cool, terrifying and awe-inspiring as her.Illidan and Arthas don't have even half the aura Xalatath has. She is bar none the most well written, most thought out villain in all of Warcraft.
>>736404912you been living under a rock? blizzard is one of if not thee most woke company. they've been poisoned for over a decade
>>736408671And you will never be a woman
>>736419815Oh, yeah, I forgot to add. She's a woman. That makes her the best by default. Because she isn't a slave to her penis which she doesn't have and has no emotions hindering her from her goals which makes her EXTREMELY threatening.More threatening than all of the previous villains combined that is.
>>736404912>>736419815op here is a good example why blizzard is gay now.
if only they didn't steal breast milk maybe blizzard wouldn't be full of feminists and faggots
>>736419815that's so fucking ultra gay
>>736404912They ran out of material from the RTS games
>>736404912wow literally raped their characters but whatever lmao
>>736419948>push her down and fuck hercounter?
>>736419815she looks like the chud meme in a wig
>>736419815based and truth pilledthe only problem is that, like every wow villian ever, she's never going to win
>>736404912it got popular and wasnt gatekept, it got tojan horsed by women and fags
>>736419960>>736420064You two are exactly what Trollbane in the Arathor questline was talking about. You only hate her and the story because she's a woman and the main focus has shifted from useless, toxic male figures to competent, threatening women.Xalatath has been planning and scheming since before WC3. She's been there when we fought Cthun. Yes, that's right. She's been actively plotting and planning since even before the Jailer who was also part of her own master plan.
>>736420090yeah it's not like vanilla, tbc and wrath raped everything from wc3
>>736420281get bent tranny. go back to gcj
>>736404912>The fuck happened, bros. The same thing, that is happening, to ltierally all media nowadays; Californian culture....First, they called us nerds and geeks for our interests... then, they capitalized on that very same ineterest for their own profit, and now, they are seeking to destroy it all with p***tics and g***er.We're gamers; we literally don't give a shit about p***tics and they know this, and they simply can't stand the idea of, not being the center of attention at all times.
>>736420281chuds dont like to live in reality
>>736413678bottom left looks a bit like an undead nglgood team tho, no disrespect
>>736420371that's rich coming from some who doesn't know their own gender
>>736413678Where's PirateSoftware's dad? He's literally the guy from the South Park episode. He's also worked at Blizzard for 7 years btw.
>>736420397that's lilian voss anon
