Now that the dust has settled can we all finally agree that the steam deck is the better option over the switch 2 offering better performance, better battery life, better ergonomics, better games, better sales, better screen, and better input options?
No
>>736405379Retard
>>736405526keep showing the same webm of the same shitty game that nobody wants to play, in a worse state then it actually is, because it is all you tendies have.
>better performance
>>736405723Steamies are delusional. News at 11.
>>736405723what game besides outlaws runs better on switch 2 over deck?
>>736405835Pragmata
'eck is more versatile but switch 2 will probably run new releases for longerdoesn't really matter which is better though because if you aren't poor you have both
>steam deck>an option>when you can't even buy it anymore
>>736405943pragmata isnt released yet.it also looks way better on deck, but it does run at 45fps
>>736405967Only AAA/AA games. For every 10 games release on steam, only about 2-3 of them get a switch 2 release, the rest is a big maybe.I've already finished Esoteric Ebb on my steam deck, Tendies will probably have to wait a year or two to get it on the Switch or Switch 2.
>>736405994thanks, orange man
>>736405526>>736405829>steamdeck stops you from playing ubislopbased
PC always wins but I'm keeping my launch Switch 2 for homebrew.
So is valve just not producing anymore decks and just moving on to the steam machine and deck 2?
>>736405967The 2 has to deal with messy granfathered Switch 1 ports that will never get touched like Borderlands 2 or actually Borderlands 3The Deck at least is a PC and comes with being able to tweak settings in game, even resizin the UI goes a long wayBtw, how does Cyberpunk actually perform in a Deck? I got it on sale in the 2 almost at what it would had cost me on Steam so I'm not annoyed pricewise
>>736406318Yup
>>736405526The switch one was optimized and has less NPCs
>>736406318not even sure they're going to produce steam machines anymore, maybe they'll move on to the deck 2
>>736406318Production was heavily scaled back due to ram prices. Likely because Valve doesn't want to increase prices.
>>736406831More than that. Many other effects are scaled back as well, not to mention the deck got about a 10% performance boost this month too.
>>736406880>Likely because Valve doesn't want to increase prices.why not? other handheld pc increased in prices
>>736407096valve needs people to be able to afford PCs or they cant make any money
>>736407096Price/performance ratio is the only good thing the Deck has for them. They also make back their money through sales on the steam store, unlike asucks where they make back through hardware sale, so cockblocking gamers from getting a deck by increasing price won't do them any good.
>>736405379OLED maybe. And that's a big if. The LCD is an overpriced meme.
>>736407096Unironically because the Deck main appeal was not being twice/thrice as expensive as the switch, unlike the competition. The deck kinda still is priced like an actual console and not an enthusiast device
>>736407096Because it would negatively affect their image. It's better for them to play the victim of supply issues due to shortages than to increase prices so they can still ship. It's only a side project for them after all.
>>736405379the steam deck is too bulky and the fan is too noisy. I got one thinking it was going to be a lot better than it actually is.It also doesn't have enough i/o options, it's very annoying to try and do stuff on it
>>736405379Any handheld that offers 3 hours battery life max on demanding games is fucking pointless. I need 24 hours, minimum. Otherwise it's just a small computer you plug into a wall and sit on a couch with.
>>736407398>It also doesn't have enough i/o optionsIm legitimately confused by what you mean by this
>>736407425So every handheld released after the DS?
>Deck is noisy as hell whenever it runs slightly demanding titles while both the Switch 1 and Switch 2 are completely silentFor obvious reasons, Decktards are disingenuous bastards who will never say anything about this point>>736405967>doesn't really matter which is better though because if you aren't poor you have bothI did both the Switch 1 and Steam Deck at the same for one year but ended up selling the Deck for being an objectively piece of shit that I got meme'd to buy.
>>736407464as in, if you wanna plug in a mouse and keyboard there aren't enough usb ports
>>736407464he is retarded and cant figure out how to use the 2 track pads, the buttons, the joysticks, the touch screens, the usb c port, or the bluetooth to navigate the UI.
>>736407607>while both the Switch 1 and Switch 2 are completely silentMy 200h on MH Rise on the switch would beg to differ. The Switch's fan is about as loud as the deck's with the oled deck being slightly quieter.
>>736407632the UI is fine if you're just playing Steam games, it's when you're trying to use Desktop mode you want more peripherals, unless you like using the on-screen keyboard (yuck)
>>736407615That's what a hub is for.
>>736407708then get a usb hub or a bluetooth m/k, dumb ass.
>>736407707That's more a proof you're someone who can't take of your belongings and leave them in constant dust
>>736407808yeah that's exactly the problem. who wants to have to use a usb hub or a bluetooth m/k? it would be better if the steam deck didn't require that garbage
>>736407851> it would be better if the steam deck didn't require that garbageit doesn't. it has the input options to do everything. you are just looking for something to complain about.
>>736407842lmao. Nice try faggot, but it was that way from day 1, I bought it with the release of Rise.
>>736407851So you want it to be even bigger and bulkier to add several USB A ports (since you also don't want to buy a->c ports)?
>>736405379Yeah
>>736405967>'eck is more versatile but switch 2 will probably run new releases for longerThe 'eck will be running new releases long after nintendo obsoletes the switch 2 because it isn't a locked down prison box. It'll still be playing games that get released after the deck 7 comes out.
>>736405379yeah, the OLED deck has simply a more vast library especially so if you include emulation. the thing is super versatile, something the S2 cannot even come to scratch
>>736405379Why?What benefit will agreement give you?Why do you seek being part of consensus?
>>736407607>while both the Switch 1 and Switch 2 are completely silentBullshit.
>>736405379I like both, but I'm not getting a Switch 2 until the OLED revision and I'm not getting a Steam Deck because I want a Steam Deck 2 in mid 2028.
>>736410428The only ones who get raped and gaped are tendies by nintendo.

I like my steam deck as a sort of replacement for my shitty cheap laptops that I would buy every couple years, usually spending $200~ for a not-too-old decommed one. My deck I've had since they started shipping, and it does everything I need from a laptop. Lack of ports but laptops tend to have those issues too nowadays, so you get a little thunderbolt dock or just a regular usb-c dock and you're fine.My thunderbolt dock from HP works but I got it free and I hear it's touch and go with other displaylink and thunderbolt docks.Anyway, it does everything. Put windows on it and it REALLY does everything. I have it set up as a printer and print at artist alleys when I'm out selling art, I use it as a little OBD2 for my truck, it's just the perfect little utility device. It's very repairable, I've got a spare deck I bought not long after launch with a hole drilled through the mobo, but somehow the cpu and ram were salvageable, so I did, so I should be fine for a nice long while, not that I've had any issues with it.I like my switch 2 for just gaming strictly, but I'm in a position where I can afford to buy anything I want, I don't think if I had to make a choice that it would even be a consideration. Luxury will always lose to utility in my life.
Steamdick running at 4-5 tdp for 8 hours is amazinglove my dickplay it every day
>>736405379The 'eck is the best video game system I've ever bought and it's not even close. I wish this is what consoles always were.

Why are nintrannies so buckbroken over deckchads? It's because we can play switch and ps4 games on our device. For more demanding games, stream from your pc. Nintrannies are sad and jealous losers
>>736411338The only ones that btfos are tendies as it's obvious they have nothing better if they can only rely on spamming failed ubislop everyone hates.

>>736411464Your brown
>>736411502Yes
Steam Deck actually has a library to work with and can enhance games that Switch 2 still hasn't enhanced.
>>736405526Bro, look at everything they had to gut in order to get this to run. You can see it in the webm just how fucking empty it is. Is this fucking Dead Rising Chop Til You Drop?
>>736405379Obviously.
I upgraded to an OLED'eck. Set up emulator from SNES to ps4, i love this thing so much bros.Used to use SRM but switched to ES-DE, the experience is so much better
>Supporting Nintendo>Ever
Can the steam deck even play anything made after 2022?
>>736411813Easily
>>736405967Why would I want a switch 2, to play Mario?
>>736411813I finished a game from 2026 on my Deck :)
If a game is ported to switch it looks and runs better than it does on steam deck. The thing is there isn't enough ports and you will constantly run into the problem of not being able to play something if you only own switch. You really need another system, owning only a switch is for ultra casuals or braindead tendies who can survive on playing nothing but bing bing wahoo 78364
>>736411813I finished Esoteric Ebb on it, a game released in 2026 and has zero switch port so far.You can also play AAA slop like RE9 and Pragmata on it, but I don't play those.
>>736407193>>736407197>>736407239>>736407360>>736410779Hilarious that when Valve screws over paying customers, anons jump to their defense. Nice double standard.
>>736406318At this point, they might as well move on. Steam Deck next generation is just going to use an off-the-shelf Medusa Point for handhelds using a strict 15W TDP. Valve will do some custom magic on it through software bullshit to get the most out of it like they're doing with the Steam Machine. They'll also use a 16GB LPDDR5X RAM because SteamOS 4.0 will make that feel like 20GB or above anyways. This situation with the current Steam Deck is why Valve is moving away from semi-custom chips.
>>736405379>better performanceArguable, some switch 2 ports run definitely better (because they have been optimized for it, though). Also while the deck got better performance overtime through updates, you cannot endlessly improve on that. And a lot of tweaking is needed to get some games to actually run well on it (cyberpunk for example). And people resort to lossless scaling with massive input lag.>better battery lifeYes, if you limit it. An OLED Deck can get up to 11-12 hours of battery on simple games. I have seen no reports on the Switch 2 doing this with weak indieshit or switch 1 games or anything like that.>better ergonomicsNo contest here, the layout and lack of proper grips is absolute ass on the switch 2. However, the switch 2 probably already has some joycon replacements that could fix that.>better gamesNo contest at all, the deck has like 2 billion of them + dozens coming out every single day. The entirety of the switch 1 + 2 catalog is tiny in comparison (not to mention, a lot of switch 1 ports run like dogshit and the switch 2 doesn't do much about some of them). The switch 2 is only more adequate for a select few newer AAA titles you can tolerate at 30fps on handheld mode that the Deck couldn't even attempt to run properly. And the occasional Nintendo game (of which there's only been one or two worth a shit so far).>Better salesYeah no I'm not following you there at all, what the fuck are you talking about>Better screenYes, the OLED Deck takes a good pungent shit on the screen on the Switch 2, I can't believe Nintendo managed to scam so many people with fake non working HDR and 120hz on a screen with more ghosting than a fucking gameboy pocket>Better input optionsAdditional. Not everyone needs the trackpads. The capacitive analog sticks would help a lot though seeing as Nintendo loves gyro. Also like I said Nintendo has joycon replacements, if I dislike the shitty d-pad on the deck, I'm stuck with it.
>>736405379>steam deck is the better option over the switch 2 offering better performance, better battery life, better ergonomics, better games, better sales, better screen, and better input options?AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>736412981I'm in the minority here but rather than have them make a more powerful deck, I'd get one with improved ergonomics, lighter, better OLED screen (at least 144hz+VRR), better battery and improved controls (specially the d-pad).Yeah it's not powerful to even run something like Indiana Jones which is now dated. But for a lot of indieshit it has been more than enough.
Some (about a dozens) of game will run better on switch 2 since they were optimized for itBut on the other hand, I can play anything on my deck, including uncensored vn which the switch cannot+Emulation up to ps2/wii/some ps3 titles which the switch cannot (unless you pay for some retarded online subscription lmao, and still, you will access only some dozens of nintendo's games, not 3rd party, only official version so no undub patch, translation patch, no rom hack...)I can use the deck as a real computer if I need to, which I cannot do on the switchI can play online for free on deck, not on switchI don't have to pay for a "hd update patch" on my deck, which I need to on switch 2 to play switch 1 gamesI can crack games on deck, not on switchMy steam deck is mine, I can install anything I want, including tweak like custom menus, customs animation... I can't do that on switch 2, I'm forced to do whatever nintendo want me to do
>>736405526>>736405829
>>736413568correct on all frontswant to dispute it?
>>736413681i still have no idea what's supposed to be wrong with the deck's d-pad
>>736407239I bought it with grossly inflated skins from Rust so I am content
Computers are always superior to video game consoles. But the Steam Deck is like a computer designed exclusively for a niche use case. For virtually any computer use, it makes more sense to have either a desktop or a laptop.
>>736405526Optimized ubigruel dogshit is still ubigruel dogshit tendiecuck
>>736405994You had multiple chances to pick one up for 300 bucks, brand new.
