Deus Ex are Stealth genre games with high interactivity, which many Stealth-genre games already focus on (as well as branching pathway missions) without being called immsims. You can ALSO fight your way through the notable genre examples to waste the 90% of level design created to sneak around obstacles, so it's not unique for that. Adding first person camera and skillpoints to Hitman or MGS3 shouldn't change the genre.
