Speak for yourself retard this is one of my dad's favourite games, I played this game multiple times and it's kino
>>

i'm a boomer but my parents never ever let me play arcades because they said it was a waste of money
>>
Never got too far into these at the arcade. Were they designed with bullshit moments to milk your coins?
>>
Off screen reload > pedal cover bs
>>
Note that these games typically have a 'cheat code' to enter the calibration setup (for your session only). Useful if your arcade has done a shit job at calibrating the guns.

iirc Time Crisis is hold down trigger and pedal before inserting coin.
>>
>>736415959
Played the sequel. In truth, no. But you DID have a great many moments where you forgot the dodging mechanic(involving a foot pedal) so you took many more hits than you should've.

Not really. Time Crisis is a pretty fair series overall, a lot of it is reaction time and threat prioritization.

Time Crisis 2 holds a special place in my heart, but for some reaosn I prefer the B-movie horror aesthetics of House of the Dead 2 and Vampire Night

Time Crisis' pedal cover to reload is what made it different. Every other arcade game was "shoot off screen to reload" but everyone who was over the age of 8 learned to just cover the gun with your hand for a quicker reload and you didn't have to re-adjust your aim. The pedal also served the function of getting behind cover. Something other arcade games did not have. You could sacrifice TIME for SAFETY. A meaningful decision in an arcade setting.
>>
You would think in the era of aim trainers that light gun rail shooters would make a mild come back.

Sinden or GUN4IR are expensive. Sinden as actually seen commercial use with Time Crisis plug and play and the Arcade1up.

Breddy gud but you should still let other people play.

the final boss CAN be a pain in the ass because he clearly mess with the natural rhythm you developped reloading and dodging bullets

I wish Mame wasn't such a bitch to learn to use, especially if you want shaders and arcade style overlays. One day I'll figure out how to play arcade shit, hopefully before I hit 40.

I got one of these because I miss light gun games so much and holy fuck, the accuracy is horrible.

It's pretty easy when you know were to look. Your version of mame just has to match your rom set.
>Download the newest version of mame
>go to the pleasure dome get hub
>download the full unmerged rom set (double check version numbers. Also it is a torrent)
>enjoy

Some games need a chd file. Those are best to cherry pick because most games that require them don't even work and a full set is like 2tb.
All you do with those is rename them to exactly what the rom file is called and put it in your roms folder.
>>
>>736411593
Time Crisis 2 was the first game I ever 1CC'd. Fuck that game was so awesome.
>>
>>736427771
What about shaders and overlays?
>>
>>736427914
I never use them except maybe some scan lines.
>>
>>736415959
1CC guy here - can't speak for the others but Time Crisis 2 had spots that were 100% designed to seem fair but were impossible to react to without foreknowledge. Some random mook popping out and near instantly firing out of rhythm with the rest of the scene.
There were also a bunch of bonus enemies that would pop out for a fraction of a second, again just no way anyone could react in time without knowing it was coming.

Still, if you did know where all the unreactable stuff was you could no-hit the game.

Just seeing this image immediately made me picture him falling back and the machine gun hitting his chopper and then

BAM FREEZE FRAME
BAMBAMBAM SCORES

I haven't played that game in like 20 years
>>
>>736419270
I remember doing this in high school and one of the girls was giggling at me and said "come on we need to leave now"
>>
>>736411698
Can a 40 yo even go to play in arcade nowadays? I saw a few games I want to try out the other day but I'm worried kids will look at me weird, get scared, or someone might call cops.
>>
>>736418909
Lightguns worked well because of how CRTs function, they suck for modern displays
>>
>>736428153
Go to a barcade. They are usually full of hot 20 something girls on a Saturday night.
