But knowing microsoft they will probably restrict the windows mode a lot (if there even is one) so if you try to run a pirated version of a game it will delete files without your consent claiming it was malware (already happens a lot with windows defender unless you turn it off which is getting increasingly hard to do).

Honestly there really isn't much value in it being able to run console versions of games as well since the PC version tens to be vastly superior anyway (not locked to a bad framerate, way more graphics options, etc).

Main reason why project helix is decently likely to turn out good was because xbox got detroyed on the market forcing microsoft to actually release something good if they want to keep selling units (and not try to sell locked down consoles with limited library, having to pay to play online, basically no mods, etc).

For every exclusive PS6 will have PC will have thousands.

Sony exclusives have mediocre gameplay, i am aware of 0 exceptions to this. The main thing sony studios have been good at is making their games look relatively good on weak console hardware.

With PS6 you will have to wait for games to be enhanced for it or play vastly inferior versions (PS5 pro version at best but can be as bad as having to play the base PS4 version). Some developers will charge money for next-gen enhancements for games you already paid for.

Sony will keep making PS+ worse value knowing people are going to keep paying for it to play with their friends.

PS6 will have weak CPU (only zen 6c cores) and bad memory bandwidth (160-bit bus compared to the 256-bit bus PS5 had). The next xbox should be around 20% faster overall (such as 144fps vs 120fps) unless microsoft blunders again by not pushing for high GPU clockspeed.

nobody is buying a $1000+ xbox console desu

Both PS6 and the next xbox will be expensive due to the ram shortage. I have a hard time seeing PS6 launch below 799$, probably 999$.

But if you can actually use the next xbox as a PC it might actually be good value at 1200$. I don't think PC prices will improve that much before the launch of the next xbox (60 series should offer better value as far as GPUs are concerns but don't expect DDR5 to be much cheaper than today).

PS6 will end up costing you more within 3 years if you pay to play online (you can get better free games via the shitty epic games store without paying a monthly fee).

I'm not buying anything with microsoft of xbox branding. Take your co-pilot sloppa and blow it out your ass sir.
>>
No-one cares about Xbox now. You think people are going to rush about and buy a new Xbox that's over $1000? Microsoft might as well just give up at this point.

People made their digital library on PS4, thats it, its over. Xbox lost there and then with the xbone. People will buy the console that plays the hundreds if not thousands of digital games they "own" and won't start over with the AI slop company's console. I don't like Sony being the only game in town as it will surely make them arrogant and pull stupid shit but anyone still thinking Xbox has a chance to pull this back is a simpleton.

Why would I buy an Xbox to run PC games though?
There's no guarantee that it'll run PC games for the entirety of the console cycle, it might eventually run out of RAM or games might start requiring some new GPU feature that the system simply doesn't have and can't be upgraded with. And then what? I just have to buy a regular PC anyways?
Or I could buy a PS6 and have upcoming games guaranteed to work on it.

It might be a PC with the xbox branding, but i really doubt it will actually be a PC where they give you full freedom to do wahtever the fuck you want

seems like a can of legal worms waiting to be raped

probably some dev mode shit you have to pay for knowing microsoft to install steam or gog or someshit
>>
>>736413446

A bigger concerns is microsoft requirering you to pay for gamepass ultimate to access the desktop mode (otherwise you get limited to a shitty console mode with few games limited/no access to multiplayer).

It's probably safer just to get a PC you will be able to upgrade unless you were dumb enough to buy a lot of xbox games (and too stupid to know how to properly pirate them on PC).
>>
>>736413626
So you admit theres no reason to buy a new Xbox?
>>
>>736413028
I don't give a shit about speculation, post an xray of the die for either machine.
>>
>>736413663

It might be cheaper and easier than building your own PC but there is as of now no guarantee for either. They might try going to apple-route and make it restricted and idiot-friendly.

a pc with a subscription? talk about DoA (dead on arrival)
>>
>>736413540

Well there is various ways in which it can end up being a bad option:

0. Full desktop being locked behind an expensive paywall (such as gamepass being required).

1. Very high retail price (such as 1600$) which is likely if they don't go for 0.

2. You will not be able to disable windows defender at all and if you try to pirate any game it will delete files without your consent and say it was malware (to push you to buy games in the microsoft store).

3. Microsoft sabotaging for stores like steam to push people towards the microsoft store (such as via 0).

4. copilot being intrusive and shitty.

the ram shortage will be over by christmas 2027
>>
>>736413028
I can’t write off Sony games if they go fully exclusive. Maybe some can, but I can play indies on a weak pc or steam deck. I don’t want to buy an expensive console only to seethe about some unforeseen game in 2028 that I can’t play. Could be good as a cost effective PC, but it wouldn’t fully replace a PS6 in my eyes.
>>
>>736413934

I don't see that happening. At best it will drop a bit in price but not to the level it was prior to the shortage.
>>
>>736413028
grok qrd this in 8 words
>>
>>736413765

It's not the case with the dev mod for current xbox consoles (which is a bit surprising to be honest) but perhaps their plan is to make it free at first and then when they have sold enough units they suddenly start changing money for the desktop mode (which has the added benefits of causing problems for competing stores).

>>736414154
sony got sued to shit when they removed otheros which nobody used, microsoft will not get awaywith doing something like this
>>
>>736413028
Every console is a nerfed pc
>>
>>736414243

With older consoles games could actually use all of the hardware unlike modern consoles where a bloated operating system reserves at least 1 CPU core (often more) and uses a big chunk of the ram as well (3.5 GiB for PS5).
