I don't play survival horror games "poorly" but I refuse to get good at them. That is to say, I like the exploration and puzzle aspects but don't care for the optimization and speedrunning follow-ups on replay, so what I do is beat a game, shelve it for a few years until I forget it, and then replay it again at some point.
