The leader of the barbarians was so skilled and evil he got sent to the shadow realm by the council of the most powerful wizards of the continent. On the same timelapse, the barbarians in his army could probably also be fighting the civilization that made things so technologically advanced they cannot be replicated to this day, including complex firearms, armor and automatons. If the barbarian leader were to return, he'd fucking do it again and lead us to practically the same situation where everyone has to gang up on him to stand a chance. They worship the dark god of war, which blesses them with +4/20 to Dodge. Arcanum hasn't expanded on Kree's past or the barbarians much, but they've probably seen and killed worse enemies than you. Also steal the idol without killing anybody to get a free fate point.
