>>736420147Because only slavs care about Valve games. He runs the only good game store, and that's what matters. The only way he loses is supporting l*n*x.
>>736420147And yet he's still doing better than timmy tencent.
>>736420147what did he loses?
>>736420147you don't lose shit by not making a game, didn't Miyamoto teach you anything? also TF2 had a pretty good run i guess, didn't play it.
Because valvefags love being annoying. It's true that steam has put valve in a position where they can do nothing but fuck up and still be successful. But you have to be a special kind of obnoxious to celebrate the company most capable of doing great things just constantly fucking up.
>>736420147The problem here is that you think Valve is losing by not actively participating in any of that shit but it's the opposite. Valve can sustain itself forever with the 30% game sale cuts on Steam. Any side gig they decide to do, they do so for the fuck of it. HL3, Deadlock, Deck, Gabecube. They didn't need to do any of that. They're in such a perpetual winning state that it's impossible for them to lose ever. They're actually so comfortable in their zone that they can get away with actively genociding my Japanese porno slideshows, because you know what? They lose nothing.
>>736420147Loses what?
>>736420147>does nothing for Half-Life 3/ L4D3/Portal 3They haven't made them. Saying someone lost for not making something doesn't work.>does nothing and abandoning TF2(He made the game Deadlock instead of Team Fortress 3)TF2 is a 20 year old game. It's not going to be supported forever. Deadlock is a different game that will not restructure itself to be TF2. Move on.>does nothing for Source engine updates for old gamesThey have no obligation to. They work on a different engine now. Best you get is a fan project like Black Mesa. You're stuck at some point 10 years in the past.
>>736420147>makes deadlock>wins
>>736421290>They haven't made them. Saying someone lost for not making something doesn't work.Yes it does. Failure to make something is failure.>TF2 is a 20 year old game. It's not going to be supported forever. Deadlock is a different game that will not restructure itself to be TF2. Move on.The OP already spelled it out for you. Valve decided to go forward with the Dota formula instead of the tf2 one for their future titles. This is already causing problems due to the issues to be had with the dota formula.
>>736421595You can't fail something if you haven't even attempted it.>>736421595>Valve decided to go forward with the Dota formula instead of the tf2 one for their future titles. This is already causing problems due to the issues to be had with the dota formula."Issues", sure. Now you're making up random things because CS2 has a different structure, Alyx is a singleplayer game and Deadlock has no microtransactions or cosmetics at all.
>>736420147Valve cuckolds found a new way to cope about how Valve does pretty much nothing nowadays other than maintain Steam and update their live service games>BUT WAIT! THEY ARE MAKING ANOTHER LIVE SERVICE MOBA HERO SHOOTER!
>>736421382> makes a game whose development does not begin with and build on the question "how can we scam our players as much as possible"> game is successful without any marketing while it looks completely unfinishedIt's that easy to stick out in this industry
Isn't it a bit too early to be seething, Sweeney?
>>736420147>Half-Life 3Oh yeah remember the """leaks""" I bet the usual tards are coping that it'll come out with the Cube
>>736421843>You can't fail something if you haven't even attempted it.You've literally failed due to lack of attempt.>"Issues", sure. Now you're making up random things I only need to look at a Deadlock general thread where people are much less concerned about defending the game's honour and just outright say what sucks.
>>736420147Because Valve drones are a special breed of retard that worship a storefront. It doesn't matter if they get no new games, if the sales suck, if the hardware flops, if everything is either a bad console port or shitty asset flip, they see a lazy fat fuck getting his 30% cut out of it and think that's winning.
>whole thread of seetheMmmm, tasty
>>736422243>I can't provide one alternative >but destroy Steam so everyone can be a miserable faggot like me
it's not that he "wins". He farmed goodwill just because the service he provides hasn't enshitified. When you do your job well, it seems you are doing nothing
>>736421290>>736421595>>736421843>>736422229Hell it's not even lack of an attempt. We know by now there are a shit load of abandoned valve projects.
>>736420147>>does nothing for Half-Life 3He does not need another tech demo or a bait to lure idiots to install his storefront softwareMaybe, if Gabe really wanted to conquer the console environment, he would just make HL3 a Steam Machine exclusive game... but I guess he is too busy building a yacht empire
I'm not saying this sack of shit always wins. But I don't see what he loses from these. What exactly does he lose? One could argue TF2 didn't need updates for that many years. They created a cash cow with the mann co update. They won a lot there. HL3 is still talked about. Everytime there's an update with some file that has a small hint at the game there's a lot of valve drones talking about it suddenly. There's no loss there. Suddenly the series is in people's minds again and it happens again and again. The only thing I can understand as a loss is the new Valve hardware and the timing with memory prices. Maybe the deck which didn't sell amazingly. I honestly would like to see any actual losses. Is the EGS the store people are using now instead of Steam? Are sales not enticing anymore? Any bad leaks? Getting hacked? I don't understand, where's the loss?
gabe has been effectively retired and living on his yachts for the past 10-15 years
Because /v/ is a bunch of children who engage in sportsball dynamics over video games so they can't see how someone who is winning in relation to another could still be a failure.
>have a product>don't actively make it worse>everyone else fucks with things that already work>Steam wins because they stayed "fine"amazing what happens when the leeches known as 'shareholders' aren't involved
>>736420147Now do this for any other publisher who also hasn't made new entries in arbitrary franchises and is currently going under.Nevermind Epic who are currently sinking despite do-maxxing Fortnite
>>736422024what the fuck does live service even mean anymore
no one in the industry has provided even close to the amount of value proton hasthis is at a time when consoles are becoming complete spyware goyboxes actively fighting the sole niche they've ever had, physical games
