I think maybe my judgement is being clouded by Dollman though, he straight up just ruined every moment in the game for me.I'm replaying DS1 as we speak, and Sam just seems so much more engaged in everything. I mean he's still distant from everyone emotionally as we all know, but he talks a lot more pushes back on things. In DS2 they're just like go here go there, and he's like okay sure whatever you say. I didn't feel the connection between the crew either in DS2. I think I know what you're saying, but to me is felt like the 3 girls having their girl power time, and me (as Sam) occasionally coming by. It would have been so cool to just see them out in the wild one time, doing something. Like they went on that one trip to get materials, it would have been so cool to follow them, or do anything with them. But I was mostly just an outsider. Almost literally because the whole crew stayed inside the ship for most of the game while I did all the hard stuff.
