WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED???

THIS IS THE FOURTH FUCKING VERSION OF THIS GAME THAT I CAN REMEMBER, HOW THE FUCK IS IT WORSE THAN JUST COPYING YOUR OWN HOMEWORK??

I waited for years for this series to come back after the disaster of Maiden of Black Water and this garbage feels like they went "well RE and SH could do it!" without understanding why. I haven't been this disappointed by a videogame since fucking Unlimited Saga on the PS2.

They don't understand what made the original game great. They messed with the gameplay by adding unnecessary mechanics. Also I agree the ghosts designs are completely wrong color. In the original game the ghosts are like black and white figures in high contrast to the point that they look like glowing.

I agree, the entire colour palette of the enemies and their immediate surroundings should have been kept based on black and white

I did not encounter a scenario in which controls have been an issue or not intuitive. You can also change the scheme anyway

I liked it but I used the Nippon VO, maybe English is the exact opposite - see AC Shadows. Playing it with VO in english is pure dogshit, get the jap VO and it's another game. Same could apply here if you are referring to eng.

Worked for me for around the mid point of the game. Afterwards I got that 1-shot lense and everything scary went out of the window. Higher difficulties do not make it scarier.

because it is a remake not a remaster, you need changes for a remake. if they are good or bad, you'll find after launching it

I liked it desu unironically
But overall, I share your sentiment that at the end of the day I still prefer the OG PS2 one. Never played the Xbox version but always heard that it is better, I should emulate it someday.

That stinks OP. I heard a lot of fans were let down because it changed a bit too much.
I think some of your complaints could be solved by adjusting the settings though.
I did think they should have stuck to fixed camera in at least a few parts of the game. I missed some of the ghost scares because I'd be looking away and not able to see the ghost they wanted me to.
I thought the JP voice acting was fine. Maybe a big stiff at times, but I think that was on purpose. It is kind of silly you can only change the voice acting in the title menu.
Kiryu house scared me. The rest of the game didn't really scare me though.
