Why was Judge Holden in Hell Is Us (2025)
>>
Why was the protagonist in his 40s but he had this haircut?
>>
>>736427354
he's french
>>
>>736427354
The broccoli haircut paired with Adam Jensen's VA is driving me insane because it doesn't fit at all.
>>
>>736427354
he's pretty fly for an old guy
>>
>>736427621
I thought Jensen was a good fit and did a good job but the hair is awful, it helps that he wears a hat for most of the game
>>
>>736430070
He's fine for the character since he's supposed to be a stoic sociopath (Which is confusing considering how kind he is), it's just the voice paired with the hair I can't gel with. It doesn't fit at all.

Why was this a soulslike?
>>
>>736430171
it literally wasnt
>>

It is and isn't. It has a lot of Soulslike leanings like the stamina-based combat, the way enemies are taught to you, the enemy ganks like at the marsh or in the underwater area at the lake, the areas having tons of "Locked from the other side" doors, and the mix of Bloodborne's rally system with Nioh's Ki Pulsing but then it leans more towards an action game with the fact that combat wants you slamming your head into enemies and the active skills on cooldowns.

I'd argue it leans more towards a Soulslike even if it feels like an action game due to how you can just mash and heal every few hits.

>meleeslop combat where you only fight a couple of enemies at a time with lock on and no jumping
Soulslop

Is this game good ? It seemed a bit weird.

It's a soulslike in the same way Darksiders is a Zelda like. It's just a 7/10 mashup of a bunch of action and adventure games with a shitty ending

I'm only just in act 2 but I would absolutely say yes.
>Fantastic atmosphere.
>Learning about the region's civil war and religion is interesting.
>World building in general is done well with murals, discussions, items, and more.
>Cool puzzle focus in between the combat.
>Combat sucks at the immediate start since it feels super clunky but once you get to the trenches it feels like it finally clicks and works better since you likely have Ki Pulsing down at that point for the healing and understand how the game wants you approaching fights (Throwing yourself at enemies).
>OST constantly keeps you tense because it's a mix of It Follow and Stranger Things.
>Of the four areas I've been to so far none of them have felt too big or overstayed their welcome, and they want you revisiting older areas to do Good Deeds or complete puzzles there you couldn't.
The main problem is you have to guide game. It's non-negotiable.
https://www.powerpyx.com/hell-is-us-missables-guide/
Tons of NPCs and side quests are missable and this is not the kind of game you want to replay like a Souls game since there's only four weapon types and the four emotion types you can slap onto them do the same thing across all weapons since they're just abilities you equip to the weapon.

You don't need a guide. If you're a 100% autist, maybe. You can infer most puzzles/good deeds by notes and intuition unless you have shit memory or put the game down for awhile.

>If you're a 100% autist, maybe.
Yes. The platinum also requires you be a 100% autist. You can't infer most Good Deeds because the dog for example needs to be immediately gone after as soon as you exit the lake or it's permanently missable, you can't give Atticus the keys in act 1 when it heavily pushes you to close the timeloop because it voids several Good Deeds that are spread across acts 1 and 2, multiple NPCs in act 1 either disappear or die so if you missed them or didn't speak to them you lose their entries and potential Good Deeds, you can't delay giving the sewer baby milk to act 2 or she's gone, etc.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Pros
>Intriguing story
>Great atmosphere
>Hauntingly beautiful locations
>Phenomenal OST
>Solid combat with various options
>No hand holding with quests
>Rewards paying attention to details
>Though few, interesting boss battles
>Short cutscenes that are few and far between
>Mature storytelling that doesn't paint one side being better than another

Cons
>Enemy variety
>Final area is lackluster

Others will complain about the combat but when I realized it was akin to Nier with Souls elements it really clicked. And though there isn't much variety in enemies, the combination of Hollow enemies and Emotion enemies prevent it from feeling entirely repetitive. Plus a group of the enemies with the combos will force you to fight strategically or you will get overwhelmed and die easily.

I agree that you don't necessarily need a guide but I did for the flares because it doesn't really tell infer when you would get locked out. The other was the car in the marshes but that was mainly my fault because I had combed the entire area before I found the keys 5 hrs later and I wasn't paying enough attention at the time.
