The problem is that having Zelda tag along on the adventure diminishes Link's role as the protagonist. In the videogame, it's one thing because you are playing as Link, but in a movie, if the movie is called "Zelda" and Zelda is leading the way and Zelda gets just as much if not more screen-time than Link than what, exactly, makes Link the protagonist?
