The game is NOT dying because one schizo in south america has been spamming for years that the game IS dying. Therefore, XIV is immune from a downturn, SE financial decisions, etc. because of his existence. Everyone knows it's impossible for an MMO to be ACTUALLY dying if people have been saying it was dying in the past. So remember if someone says XIV is dying, remind them of their folly by saying "TWO MORE WEEKS" (this being the meme that reminds everyone of people who say something is going to happen but NEVER happens, because again, remember that an MMO is incapable of dying (basically immortal) if someone said it was dying in the past)

game is too long. next expansion should be alternate start (timetravel/compression bullshit who cares) so returners don't have to relearn level 80/90/100 gameplay. remove all roadblocks to solo play from the msq and make dawntrail optional. add shadowbringers to the free trial to restore population. reduce the level cap to 99 and do horizontal progression from there.

You don't have any innovative new ideas or reworks. They've been pushing the same game play styles since Storm blood. Every Dungeon works the same. You do 2~3 AoE Mob cycles, then fight a boss, you do this 3 times and the dungeon is over. Open world content was already dead but now it's like super dead, there nothing to do in the open world even if you're a miner, botanist or fisher. The raids are all just the same content remixed with new visuals. They can't change the core structure too much.Somehow ironically in early Havensward circa 2015 we had more classes then we do today. They had roles, melee had TP, Healers had to actually heal, Bard actually buffed, AST was actually a very distinct healer, tanks weren't the same shit just with a different weapon, each class had their own strengths and weaknesses. Now we have Tanks, Healers, Physical Ranged, Magic Ranged and Melee. 5 Classes that work slightly differently. But in essence there 5 have the exact same interchangeable tool kit.I stopped playing the game after Dawntrail because it felt the fucking same it felt at the end of endwalker with a different look. It honestly seems the game right now is there for the erp modders that are stuck with an incredibly subpar engine you can't really mod to preform any sex, the old fags that just play FFXIV, and the occasional casual that will discovers the game, go on reddit say it's the best thing since sliced bread, experience 10 years of content in a few months and then get bored.

The playerbase has so many places to go and spread out, that's a "good thing" factor that slowly poisons the game's longevity as a necessity as a catch 22. You have to add new zones, but adding new zones kills old ones and spreads out the playerbase and it only snowballs from there. If XIV didn't have the Sync system, it would be abso-lutely fucked.
