I love the game, but Bloodborne works so well because it feels finished. All three endings feel conclusive and definitive, so I think a sequel would only lessen the impact of the original. Part of what makes it hit so hard is that it’s this weird, complete thing that just ends, whichever ending you get. I don’t want it to end up feeling cheaper or devalued just because people keep begging for more. That’s how you end up with something like The Simpsons, dragged out for so long that it starts to tarnish its own legacy and image.
>>736436205I don't think people want a sequel story wise, I think they just want more blood-borne. It would have been possible with something like the convergence mod, that exists for Dark Souls 3 and Elden ring. It's a significant addition of content. unfortunately Fromsoft isn't that kind of company so BB may very well be buried forever. Maybe you'll get something with cosmetic similarities like that new one coming out, but its exclusive to a console which limits who will buy it and keeping it from being modded which also kills its longevity.
>>736436536Honestly, even just a sequel in name only would feel strange to me because the name itself, Bloodborne, is tied to the lore and context of the game, if that makes sense.Something entirely new that's very similar would be cool, but I would not want a direct sequel or even a sequel in name only.
>>736436765There is such a thing as "spiritual successor".
>>736436913Yeah, I figured I implied that that's what I meant when I said "Something entirely new that's very similar would be cool"
>>736436205Dark Souls 1 also felt pretty finished yet it got 2 sequelsA Bloodborne sequel can be set in an entirely diffrent city of the same universe and work
>>736437176>"Dark Souls 1 also felt pretty finished yet it got 2 sequels">tfw because of shitty contracts we got DaS 2&3 instead of 2 new original IP's like DaS, BB and Sekiro
