I'd suggest a DS, which you can essentially play all gb(c), gba, and ds games for with mods and everdrives or whatever research based decision you arrive to
I personally got a analogue pocket I'm waiting on, but idk if/ when those will get a restock
But if you can get a pocket, or something that can play neogeo pocket, gamegear, or aforementioned Nintendo games, that'd be my recommendation

Either that, or you've "outgrown" video games. Start reading books instead, or watch films. Old ones, before all the CGI.

I was like you. I've "given up" on video games. Now I mostly read, and the games I play are old ones I never played or old ones I play for the nostalgia. I steer clear of any game you're supposed to play for hundreds of hours, such as map painting games, roguelites, multiplayer etc. My passion for video games is sort of back, as long as I stay selective with what I play and avoid forcing myself to play "just to pass time" or anything similar.
