Sooooooo....will the new Star Fox be another reboot (the third) or a continuation of Zero or Command?
yes owo
>>736441063Whatever it ends up being, it better have Krystal
>>736441141how do you introduce Krystal in a new reboot?her whole lore is being the last of her old planet with magic and telepatic powers. She absolutely would have to be the co-protagonist or an important part of the plot, and I see it unlikely in the Andross's plot line
>>736441063Why is the quality so shit?
Whatever it ends up being, it better have Wolf.
>>736441842for no AI training
>>736441063It should just keep going off of Zero or return to the old stuff. No need for another reboot.>>736441582Either rewrite her to be a Sci-Fi Telepath or keep the magic since they seem to like having a James around as a ghost. Not hard to even have her join the team if they keep the Andross destroying her home bit.
>>736441063if they want it to be successful, just make SF64-2no more gimmicks
>>736442046no it isn't
>>736441063Supposedly the new rumor going around is that its funny. Hope that doesn't mean every line is trying to be the next "do a barrel roll" or something memeworthy.
>>736442116>return to the old stuffSo, what is the canonical ending of Command?
>>736442715"Lucy and Krystal" or "Fox and Krystal" endings. Since those two are status queue resets (Something Nintendo is usually fond of), and they are the easiest to explain to players who haven't played Command.
>>736442558Fuck, kill, marry.
>>736441063Command isn't canon and has multiple endings. There is way too much bullshit to using Command as a jumping off point for a new game. Easiest will be jumping off of OG64, Starfox 2, or Assault. Zero would be dumb because acknowledging Zero would be dumb.
>>736442215on-rails shooters are normgroid repellents. you'll have to think of something else
>>736442715I always assumed it was the first one since it ends right after the game. It doesn't skip into "and then they all lived happily ever after/and then they died miserable and alone" epilogues and keeps the Fox/Krystal drama alive for sequels (heh).
>>736442046Japs are so retarded when it comes to posting art online, it's funny
>>736441582TNG didn't give anything more than a throwaway line for its token telepath for ten episodes, that's like five entire starfox 64's in runtime.
>>736441063Whatever it ends up being, it better have Fox in the middle of a Wolf/Krystal bisexual sandwich.
>>736441063Continuation of Zero.Every appearance the Star Fox team has had since Zero has been based on their appearances from Zero.Even in the Mario Galaxy movie, Fox's design primarily derives from Zero. And the montage with the crew has their Zero designs, too.Plus, it would probably be easier to continue a story from 2016 game than continue from a 2006 game.
>>736444913>continuation of a game no one playedbrilliant. simply superb. that's about as clever as releasing the 2nd game in a series before the first
>>736441063The biggest problem is Star Fox is at its best when it's simple (3d scrolling shmup) but people aren't willing to pay full price for that kind ofgame anymore
>>736444913>Every appearance the Star Fox team has had since Zero has been based on their appearances from Zero.Nintendo always does that, that's why we were stuck with Other M Samus for so long.
>>736445035games have greatly widened in scope. an auto-scroller wouldn't have justified a $80 pricetag even back in the N64 days (sf64 retailed for $40)
>>736441582>her whole lore is being the last of her old planet with magic and telepatic powersAnd? There were magic flying space whales in Star Fox SNES. The token mysticism planet/species is a sci-fi staple. Why do people keep pretending like it doesn’t mesh with the genre?
>>736441063it's now or never, if nintendo doesnt take advantage of this opportunity to revive star fox, there wont be another one
I'm not even sure if Nintendo views Zero as its own continuity. I don't remember them ever calling the game a reboot, but I do remember the director stating he wanted to use Krystal in the sequel. I don't think Nintendo has the same relationship with continuity that the fans do, so the fact that Andross was developing bioweapons in 64, but hostile robots in Zero really matters to Nintendo because at the end of the day he's still a terrorist trying to take over the Lylat System.
I want a hubworld RPG where you take on various contracts. We can have rail shooter segments, racing levels, on foot shooter levels, and even some management mechanic where you maintain and build out Star Fox as a mercenary company. The main story would have you fighting in a campaign against andross, but there would be side missions for different characters.
