>Look up speedrun to see high level play>Character just keeps clipping through wallsHow do people even find it fun
>>736444336Should've picked glitchless% or no major glitches categories of speedruns instead of any%
Try "glitchless" runs.
>>736444336>/v/: wow this speed run is boring he's just playing through the entire game like a let's play>also /v/: wtf why is he using skips and going out of bounds its too fast this sucks he didn't beat the game
>>736444530>/v/ is one guy
>>736444336You just wanted an excuse to post this picture but that's fine with me
>>736444336>Be a retard>Make this thread
>>736444336harem with female gobbos
>>736444881You still clicked on it. So let's not be coy, we all know why we're here
>>736444881
I LOVE GOBLINS!
>>736444580>/v/ is more than one guy
>>736445501It's John Vee in the flesh.
>>736445572Male V is cool i wish retards didn't play femv so much or tried to be their OC (which they can't)
>>736444336Never look at speedruns for high level play, they just spam exploits and use the meta exclusively while cheating in ideal scenarios for themselves to remove variables. No normal person plays like them and they don't show you anything but what the fastest way to kill something is.
>>736445645Ye, did my 2nd playthrough as femV, wasn't that good. And Judy was kinda meh too.
>Look up speedrun>They skip all the cutscenes and use boring optimal stratswtf?????
>>736444516Nope, sorry, gotta make this thread over and over for another 10 years instead
>>736444505>glitchless% or no major glitchesThese always come with a cope list how a clear glitch isn't a glitch somehow.
I think they sometimes use the keyword Stylish play or something but I only seen it apply to character action stuff like DMC or just them fucking around with TAS
>>736445838it will stay that way until we find a consense on the definition of a glitch. never
>>736444336It's a mental illness. They call it GDQ or something. I think it stands for Gamers gone queer. You know, because they can't just go through a level or engage with a game in a straight-forward manner and always try to squeeze into things they shouldn't.>>736444505No, even those are shit. You need to look for "expert playthroughs" or something similar. Where a person, who knows a game inside and out, plays efficiently and quickly, but without trying to go as fast as possible.
>>736444336It's about understanding the game at such a microscopic level, that you're capable of bending it to your advantage. I don't think that's fun, but others do, and that's cool.I think it's fun watching these guys do the things they do.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uu1_f3-KgtE
>>736444336Any% speedruns that allow glitches are lame, I'm with you. I think you need to search for 100% glitchless speedruns. I don't know the exact terminology but I think that's it.
>>736444336Speedruns with glitches become a puzzle game where the objective is to bend the world's mechanics to your will in order to achieve your goal.
>>736445943Going as fast as possible is the point of a speed run
>>736445645V is barely a character and feels like CDPR did not fully knew if they wanted Blank page or an established character. Life paths that do nothing and visible sings that street kid was the onrended route. The mononote voiceacting. No 3rd person option besides photo Mode. Character creation being very lacking
>dude just watch glitchlessfirst of all you fags never have a concrete definition of what does and doesn't count as "glitchless" anyway so that's already a wash and secondly it completely ignores that some glitches do in fact increase the fun factor without making the entire thing a farce. there's a world of difference between funny movement mechanics that make your movement speed a bit faster and using ACE to skip like 95% of the game
>>736446539You sure it doesn't mean going as faggot as possible? Every time I see a speedrunning event, everyone in the audience and gaming chair is queer.
>>736446626/v/ definitely has a character. He's a kid who sees night city as a land of opportunity and wants to get rich and famous killing people or die trying. But he's naive and isn't as about that life as he hoped. He's crass, dumb, violent, materialistic, and a bit slow on the uptake. Oddly enough, he's one of the few people in Night City who still "has a soul," and is earnest (if overly trusting). In the Star ending you learn the value of life and the people around you and leave the city behind, which is the ending I got.Never really felt like the shaved jarhead look a lot of maleV players go with fits his character (or my interpretation of it anyway) I made mine look like a shabby and kinda ugly guy dressed with a mix of expensive clothes and rugged tactical equipment
>>736445838Nah, the only real glitches that make their way into that type of category are either ones that would classify pretty ordinary gameplay as glitching too, or literally unavoidable ones, like how Pokemon R/B is so bug riddled that any in-battle stat changes after receiving a permanent badge buff are genuine glitches (the badge buff repeats).
>>736446781No one in this thread is arguing ACE is "fun," don't generalize all exploits into that category
In what world is seeing someone break a game not cool? Do you think it's unfair or Do you spergs just take it personally like they're cheating to beat the game faster than you or something?
>>736444336>Look up speedrun to see high level play>Character just keeps impregnating ovulating goblin girls
Glitch-less and No Out Of Bounds are best categories because it showcases game knowledge and skill instead of exploit knowledge and skill. Being able to bypass a boss because you entered a door above where it expected you to is lame. Defeating a boss with a cheese strategy or optimal strategy is more impressive in my opinion.
>>736448670It's cool if a game not being broken is the state you usually think of it as but any sort of dev experience is going to make you realize that that's not how it works.
>>736444516I shouldn't have to search for glitchless. People who want to see glitches should have to search for glitch runs. It's like pickles; in an ideal world people who want pickles should have to ask for them, instead of contaminating people's food with them by default unless they ask you not to.
>>736449379I agree but unfortunately the Speedrun Community has decided that the idea is to get from Point A (start of game) to Point B (credits) as fast as possible using any and all methods. Wrong Warp and its consequences has been a disaster for my own personal idea of what Speedrunning should be.
>>736449148I sort of agree but compare the flag manipulation in Skyward Sword where they're constantly using random actions in one game state to trigger quest progress on other map sectors to a Sekiro speedrun where they stunlock every boss and get clobbered if anything doesn't go exactly according to the flowchart. They're both mastery of the systems but one is structural and the other is execution.
>>736445838Ah yes like how glitchless Pokemon red and blue runs are allowed to do the pokedoll glitch
apparently the only thing more autistic than speedrun players is speedrun watchers
The people who find a glitch that lets them walk through walls are usually people who play the game at a very high level, so showing how well you can do this is a show of skill. In theory. If you fall off your glitch ridden route and don't know what to do because "you've never played this part casually" then FUCK OFF AND DIE. Don't speedrun shit you don't enjoy normally.
>>736449878On the other hand some of these people just spend hours TRYING to glitch through a piece of awkward geometry because it works in other games.
GOBLINS ARE CUTE
>>736448670These are brainlets that don't understand speedrunning at all. Their idea of a speedrun is rushing to star road on SMW to Bowser which is infinitely more boring and has less skill involved than an actual speedrun. Also if you like speedrunning then you're a tranny according to them anyway.
>>736450012Recognizing geometry that creates edge cases in player collision to see if any of them have exploitable traits isn't looking for clips just because it works in other games. It's using general gaming knowledge.
>>736450191It's using exploit knowledge. Not the game's knowledge.
>>736449379Makes sense an autist would dislike pickles.
