>>736451635Not really. It can be fun, but you really need to temper your expectations and probably install some mods. I don't have a high bar for writing, or companions, and I generally liked the companions, to some degree. But its a massive downgrade compared to previous companions in earlier bethesda games, and the faction quests are really bad and ideologically driven. The only writing I particularly liked was the main quest, and it was mostly due to the starborn, and its lore implications, which I thought were cool. But I also liked stargate and remant from the ashes. The faction quests and most of the side quests are just really shit. As an example, the UC questline has you solve the terrormorph problem, and the two solutions are to create a microbe and release it to the entire universe to kill terrormorphs, and it won't mutate, probably. Despite having a 1/million chance, for the entire universe. Or bring back an extinct species with science, of the terrormorphs natural predator, that was already domesticated by humanity but went extinct due to the war, from overeating by humans. So they're safe, like big cows. If you choose the big cows, all the companions give you shit and you lose affinity. With sarah outright condemning you for not>trusting the scienceBoth faction quests are like this, very pointed. Other than that, the dialogue has also worsened compared to previous bethesda games, not as entertaining.

This is not a compliment.It's mediocre and it's certainly not the Skyrim or even Fallout 4 of its time. This update April 7th should be interesting though. >>736458260good review. i'd like to add some of the good stuff; ship building with the right mods can be a ton of fun, and building a giant ship full of turrets that you don't need to control feels great. later in the game you can have a huge crew which is really neat, but the gameplay loop makes you get rid of your crew and ship each time so its not very rewarding. gun/gameplay wise it feels the best out of any bethesda game, and modding the guns is fun too, but there aren't enough enemy types to kill with them. the worst part of the whole game is that theres only one good quest called Entangled, its super short, but very rewarding if you actually take the time to do it right. this game really could have been so much more.
