DLC in the summer Direct, trust the plan

If the rumors have any shred of truth to them, we aren’t getting MKW DLC until like 2027, but that may be because they’re going to pull a Sonic Crossworlds and incorporate themed tracks in addition to some guest characters. And if Star Fox is getting one or more new games, the series will probably get represented in Mario Kart that isn’t just another shitty Mii costume.

Honestly, I think this is just the beginning of a massive push for Star Fox by Nintendo.
Fox in the Super Mario Galaxy movie first, and a new game is bound to be announced (Probably this week).
Plus apparently a second Star Fox game is in development as well (An adventure game not in 2026).
Seeing a Star Fox themed DLC for Mario Kart World (Or just Fox himself as a character) is totally possible.
Not to mention they still have Adventures and Assault to drop onto NSO... or outright remaster like Pikmin.
There is so much potential here. I would say the sky is the limit, but the potential reaches far beyond that.

I'm cool with it, personally. The common thread among opinions of the movie are that Fox was a highlight. Don't get your hopes up, fren. There's always the possibility that Star Fox's return starts and ends with this cameo. After Zero killed Nintendo's faith in the series, I really doubt there's been any new games secretly in development. Nintendo would have shot down any pitches to use the IP out of fear of poor sales/lack of interest. Starlink's mild performance probably reinforced this sentiment.
If they're gonna do anything, they'll do something safe. We'll most definitely be getting Assault at the very least. In hindsight, that might've been their plan. To hold off on adding one of the better games so they could ride the wave of renewed interest and bag more NSO subscriptions.
I have wondered about a re-release of Star Fox 64 3D with some little added extras, as to formally introduce new fans to the franchise with their old remaster of 64. I do too. I like Glen Powell, but I wonder if Glen becoming the VA and pitching being a VA for Fox, played a role in how they decided to approach Fox's personality. I don't think Glen plays 1 character in each movie he's in, but from what I've seen, there is usually some swagger and cockiness to the roles he plays. I've only seen him in Twisters, Top Gun and Mario Galaxy though. I like Fox's reserved nature but I thought he was fine in this movie too.

Shields are able to be picked up in multiplayer stages and everyone spawns with at least 1. Her extra shield is a crutch more so than an asset since assault multiplayer it is extremely easy to run away and wait out shields. They also do shit when in vehicles.
