What you're fighting are the pieces of his soul that you gathered throughout the game and you need to fight it to master it's power cause obviously they were pissed that your executed Hobs. >>736462993The game could use it but I'd much sooner get more locations, a couple companion options, and some reworked dialog. The game looks well enough and is so enjoyable from an exploration standpoint that I just want more content. Maybe some proper guild quest lines too.
>>736462836The plot revolves around two Foredwellers, the Pale Lady and her son, the Prince. They are basically Warp Creatures and the Wyrdness their warp and have no concept of mortality. Long ago, someone or something tipped off the Prince to the existence of humanity and he became fascinated with our ability to die. He invented Menhirs to stabilize Wyrdness so he can approach to interact with humanity but the other Foredwellers saw this as a threat and murdered him as ironic punishment. The Pale Lady found out and started grieving and bleeding from her heart which became the Red Death plague. At the same time, her son reincarnated into Arthur Pendragon without supernatural ability yet. Merlin, who was already Archdruid and active for a few hundred years and thus quite sus, became his mentor and started guiding him to be King. Eventually, the Pale Lady found out where her son is and with a combination of psychic dreams to him and his sister and Red Death, they guided Arthur to bring all of humanity to Avalon. From there, Merlin's council and Pale Lady backstabbing had managed to lead humanity to kill off the physical presence of most Foredwellers in Avalon. However, most are fine and Merlin failed to convince Arthur to become a full Foredweller before he died leading to the plot of the game where they keep trying to resurrect him in bits and pieces to get the perfect king. Everytime he gets resurrected or trapped, the Pale Lady reacts with her grief and Red death spreads. I think with the conclusion of Merlin's tomb being one giant guilt trip for Arthur and him leaving only a tainted ghost behind, the real Merlin was like instigating the whole plot and had a vendetta against the Foredwellers.
