A lot of really bullshit sections in NES games are trivialized by constantly advancing towards the goal every moment it is possible. Ninja gaiden has maybe 2-4 spots where the optimal play is to not pausing or reversing progress. 99% of the powerups in that game are noob bait that makes things 100 times harder then it needs to be.
