I really want to enjoy building games but after a certain point I really just can't bring myself to give a shit. It's like who am I building all this for? Maybe my friends will take a tour of it for 10 minutes or I'll get some Likes on social media but otherwise it's all just for me to look at. The worst part is because its inside a game I have no ownership of it. I can't be like "oh that's a really cool house I made" and export it into Unity to use in my project. When everyone stops playing this game the things I spent 100s of hours building will lose all relevance and essentially be abandoned. It's not even like I'm gaining creative skills that will transfer to another medium. It's all just masturbation. I might as well be grinding levels in an MMO and it would be equally pointless

This is also how I feel, so I don't play building games.

It's like Lego (and a lot of things in life), there is no point except the act of being creative or building something itself. Very deep stuff.
