My little brother got cancer and video games have become a huge stress reliever. I pulled out my Wii and just bowl every once in a while. Can we just make this a happy thread where we talk about the simple video games that make us feel better? Pic related is Wii sports..”Resort” I think. I’m sorry I ever stepped away from video games 16 years ago. I forgot how much I liked them. So what are you playing? I’m thinking of getting an android tablet or a Steam Deck so I can catch up. Best wishes to all of you!
>>736469747hope he recoversthe other people here will not be so kind unfortunately
RIP little Sanser :(
>>736469796Yeah I know. It’s okay. Thanks for your kind words. He’ll be okay, he has to finish is radiation treatments and then get surgery so I quit my job and just drive him around all day. At night I couldn’t sleep so I started playing the games that I liked. (It helped, in case anyone else is having similar problems.) I’ve just been out of the loop for a while and am looking for some nice stress relieving games or just really thinking of getting back into it. But, I literally don’t know what the new ones are at all. So let’s just talk about games in general. Like the ones that are your “go-to” when you’re stressed?
>>736470004(OP here) the last modern game I played was Breath of the Wild, and even then I only made it to two Devine Beasts; the elephant and the camel. I only have it on the WiiU though. The thing about that game was that it made me hungry because of all the cooking…..anyone else run into that problem?
op play this. it will cheer you uphttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wm_25FLPZpA&pp=ygUgYm9rdSBubyBuYXRzdXlhc3VtaSBwczIgZ2FtZXBsYXk%3D
>>736470004honestly when im stressed it takes alot of effort to open up a game, but usually once i get in i can distract myself enough to where it doesnt bother me with most games that require attention. unless the stress is something like " i have to do something later today" in which case i cant properly let myself do much of anything until after.
>>736470132Botw food was ok, but didn't make me hungry because link just drops the food on the pot and it dances. Monster Hunter, final fantasy 15 and dragon's crown food makes me real hungry
>>736470347Yeah I’m the same way. Can’t relax unless I know the day is done. But I must find a way! The stress is a killer. Can’t read when I’m like this, but simple video games like this one does help!I got a strike!
>>736469747I played Mega Man Star Force 2 alone, then eventually I played Super Bomberman 3 with my brother. The emulation on that was weird with the sound. You shouldn't play either of those with him. They piss me off.
>>736470434Have you ever tried to make the food? I made the “Spicy Meat & Seafood Fry” like 9 years ago. It was alright.
>>736470705How about the new Pokemon one that’s open world? Is there anything like Botw where you can just jump in? I don’t have the patience for movie games. Even RDR2 was although good, just too many cutscenes.
>>736470894I wouldn't know, I think Pokémon stinks. And I'm not fond of open-world games either. I also don't like movie games, but the shit I'd recommend is crap like Pikmin 1 & 3, arcadey shit(not rougelikes, I hate them), Mega Man and its kin in general.
>>736470195>>736470705>>736469787>>736471656Thanks I’ll check those out. The only Mega Man I’ve played was on NES, and I was never able to make it very far. Same thing with Sonic—I made it to the third Dr. Robotnik but couldn’t for the life of me make it past that. The one I wish I could play more than ANYTHING is “Alice McGee’s Alice” but I don’t know where to get it (I don’t pirate unless I already own the game) and also the sequel. I’ve never even played that one.
OP here. Is there any way to download a rom legally if I already own a copy? Can’t get a straight answer online.
>>736472903No. Yar Har har that shit.
>>736472903It's possible to dump the contents of the game to your PC. I don't know how but you can look that up.Most people don't give a shit though. You already own the game so there's nothing morally wrong, and they're not difficult to find.
>>736469747Love Wii Sports. My little sister is 8 years younger, so her only gaming nostalgia is from the Wii era and onwards. Brought out the Wii over christmas, and bonded over this game (and then we fucked). It was great.
>>736472565>I don’t pirate unless I already own the gameThere goes half your options lol
>>736470004The Animal Crossing games are fantastic for stress relief. I'm a zoomer so New Leaf is my go-to, but the original is quite good as well (especially with the Animal Crossing Deluxe mod). I've been getting back into Minecraft (version 1.9) which makes for a comfy open-world. When neither of those games scratch the itch, I have GTA IV. The physics in that game always crack me up, and it's so cool just driving around the giant-ass map.
>>736473610Forgot to mention Pokémon Crystal. I apparently really like exploration games.I know my taste is normalfag-tier at best.
>>736469747I find colorful city builders like anno 1703 or tropico 3 and 5 to be upliftingBtw cancer cant develop without polyunsaturated fatty acids, ray peat wrote a lot about it. An easy low effort intervention could be megadosing aspirin, taken with vitamin k to prevent excess blood thinning
>>736474684Btw tropico is a lot more stressful than anno 1701, you practically cant lose in anno 1701 campaign, its easy mode. Its available on gog. I havent tried the remaster on steam
I find Starfield to be very relaxing for some reason. And after the intro sequence you dont really have to talk to any of the NPCs if you dont want to.
I am playing old pinball games I grew up with
>Game tricks edgelords into playing an allegory for the establishment of Christ's new covenant and thus the collective penance for mankind's sinsDe nada
>>736475773What game
>>736476776Castlevania: Spanish Catholic Edition Gold
Haven't been playing anything cause I'm at my parents' celebratingProbably gonna finish Pillars of Eternity today or tomorrow though
House of the Dead 2 remakeSolid remake for once. Rare in these dark times. I’m tempted to get someone to play co op with me because I used to love playing with my brother back in the day
>>736470894Assuming you're talking about Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, don't bother. It definitely railroads you for at least two to three hours before you can go do your own thing, but after that it's just not that good of a game, and plenty of cutscenes stopping you from time to time
