Apologies for the AI image. Which one would you prefer? You could put it in the middle and say you could play something like Yugioh Master Duel or MTG Arena but some people like the face to face interaction
>>736470095I like both. Preference varies on my mood.
>>736470095weak thread desu but i'll bitetcgs are fun for friends you know well, as a vehicle for fun conversations and to fill awkward silences. i would never want to go to a public event again, though. it's a total roulette on whether you'll have chill fun or meet some hyper competitive sperg who ruins your mood for a week.
>AI slopSTOP THAT
How expesive is it playing a tcg verus spending money on video games (DLC microtransactions included)?
>>736470191TCG by far unless you include the hardware. But there's also the matter of depth of investment. If you equally play games and a TCG for a year, the TCG investment will dwarf the games one. But if you want one night of fun trying something new, they're pretty comparable.
>>736470191Depends on the card game really. You can build a competitive Pokémon deck for like $30 but Yu-Gi-Oh will cost you hundreds. Of course if you don't want to play card games competitively then it can cost whatever you want it to cost really.
>>736470095On the video games board? There are fun TCGs but it's hard enough even getting people to play a popular one.
>>736470191TCG by far but one of my favourite activities to do was go down to the card shop, everyone grabs a box of bulk and you have 30 minutes + 10 bucks max to build a deck out of whatever you can find
Video gamesTCGs are more expensive, you need to go and find people to play with, you build a deck only to get cucked by a banlist. Video games are just the complete package and you can play for a good amount of time.Although playing tcgs is good for socialising and getting fresh air
>>736470095MTG is a fun game in theory but is terrible to play because it exists in a physical medium.Hearthstone let's me try a new hot deck for at most twenty bucks.MTG standard asks for hundreds invested for a single deck and even the bitch casual Commander has every game of it I play directly influenced by having two guys having played and invested thousands of dollars and years into it then the rest of our group.
>>736470095>but some people like the face to face interactionAnything that you can do face to face is superior to online. Even if something shitty is happening, at least you can let out your frustrations and the dude can have a chuckle, which should in turn also make you feel less shitty
>>736470095kill yourself
>>736470191I've spent nearly 3000 dollars on a stupid bug card gameI plan to get those numbers up
>>736471817????
>>736470995Counterpoint, your printer lets you play any TCG for the cost of paper, ink, and your time in cutting the little fuckers out and putting them into sleeves.
