What's wrong is that they didn't reveal the quarian look until ME3, when they had already genericified most designs, like Javik being an "unhusked" Collector, which unceremoniously turns all Protheans into humanoid bugmen like something out of a Ratchet & Clank game, and not Mass Effect. By 3, BioWare as a studio became too standardized and didn't challenge themselves. So there was no way they would've made any other design for Quarians than something that looks rather generic and overly "relatable for humans". And I'm not asking for some bizarro tentacle creature either, but I expected them to not have hair, for example, but every fucking design fans threw at BioWare on Tumblr and DeviantArt looked kinda like this. Very "Disney Princess". Stuff that would've never flown in the dark male-centric offices that they developed the first game in.
What were Quarians thought to look like before the reveal? What would YOU like them to look like?

The mechanics of combat weren't bad themselves but due to the nature of it being open world, a lot of the combat zone design was weak so it didn't come together quite as well as some parts of the trilogy. It was still fun to shoot things and use powers.
