Anon, why don't you make a silly incremental game with simple yet addicting gameplay?
>made in a couple of months in unity
>the whole game has only a few models, all of trivial quality that literally anyone can make
>programming wise even someone who never wrote a single line of code could do this especially today with AI
>150K dollars in 2 years - an it keeps making you free money of course once you release it, every month
many such cases
and the formula is so simple
the only way to fuck up is to make some boring platformer, or some story based shit, or something similarly retarded to that

I am working on one with ideas for a couple more. Hopefully they create enough of a sales trail that I can live off of it for a couple years. I don't need much.

wholesome
will there be a discord? can I shitpost in there?
let's laugh at the wagies together mister non

I'm not looking forward to the community building part but I guess it has to be done. I really do not want to have to moderate a server. Not sure how to approach that in a way that makes it the least amount of hassle for me.

>simple yet addicting gameplay
This is the hard part and no amount of AI will help with that. Also what's the game in OP?

you can always just copy the system of some other successful game, maybe tweak it a bit or something
collect basic resource -> get profit from it -> upgrade/automate/combine some kind of infrastracture to make even more profit
slap on some upgrade tree, maybe a sliver of some shitty story, and BOOM, easy money

just don't try to pad the shit with stupid cutscenes, unskippable dialogs, complex menus or rules the player has to learn
if you notice these games get played only if they're 99% gameplay and almost no boring bullshit
some indie devs don't understand that for some reason and add in 10 mins of introductory tutorial, then dialogs and (obviously atrocious) story and shit like that, and wonder why nobody plays past the first few minutes and have no idea why they ended up with at most like 16 reviews
guess it needs one to not be completely braindead, yeah. that's the cutoff

I guess it's not a requirement
what's the percentage of players that do even join a discord or post on steams discussions or in general partake in any shit like that?
I'd expect it to matter only marginally, it's probably gonna be only the complete turbo autists and weirdos who would even want that, so it's probably up to you if you even want anything like that
