Why won't SE make a "classic" FFXIV server that starts from ARR and progresses to the next expansion every once in a while?I've seen many long time players on 4chan and plebbit get butthurt about this idea, claiming it would "split the playerbase". I don't get this argument at all, because the kind of people who would want a "classic" server would be:1) New players who don't wanna essentially play alone for 400 hours before getting to DT2) Old players who quit because they didn't like the recent expansionsBoth groups are most likely NOT subbed to the game, so they aren't part of the playerbase.I think it would be fun to have everyone start on the same page and progress together, especially as someone who didn't play from the start. SE clearly can afford extra servers, because just look at the deserted DC that's Dynamis on NA. They could start with 1 server per DC/region to cut costs.

I don't want to go back to ARR. Part of the reason I've dropped FFXIV is because it has wasted all the potential I thought it had (all in the name of streamlining), while letting all the glaring flaws fester. Going back doesn't solve the problem in my eyes, because it was just a starting point that could've gone somewhere great. But we never went there.

Sadly, SE seems to have absolutely zero creativity and prefer to stick to the same formula of a new expansion every 2 years, with the same cycle of content release. They also make it harder for new players to join in because every expansion adds like 80 hours of MSQ.
