People talk about how FF13 or 15 killed the series, but lets not forget what a piece of fucking shit this was.
>>736479905Let's instead talk about what a faggot OP is.
>>736479937fpbp
>>736479905The series died when it started to go the MMO route, XI was the killshot.
>>736479937FP as always BP
It's hard to say or was I just getting older and the lifelong depression was setting in?
>>736479989nah it died when it couldn't give us overworlds anymore
>>736480067this. it died with X. the mmos are kino.
Would you wear gay shit like this on your arm IRL to get better chest loot?
>>736479905>how FF13 or 15 killed the series,YoshitPiss 16 is the one that killed the series.
>>736480109nah, it died when you stopped being able to choose your own jobs at the start of the game
>>736480181ok barry
>>736480181obsessed
>>736480176>he didn't go into debt to be a final fantasy character and is gay af
I died when they got rid of Sakaguchi
>>736480364I'm sorry for you, Anon. How's things in Limbo?
>>736480067>older final fantasies>going from a major city to the next takes 1 minute on airship or maybe 5 mins on footperfection! what a huge world!>FF12>walking from rabanastre to arkades takes 30 minutes>or you can book a flight to get there in few cutscenes>or you can teleport there with crystalsugh... they ruined it..
>>736480364kek
>>736480067I like the old FFs but overworlds didn't mean much, it's not like there were lots of towns to visit. Even worse in FF8 and FF9 when you get locked out of some of them endgame.
>>736480472in ff11 it took you 1 hour to walk across a single area. And if you wanted to take the airship then you'd have to wait another 1 hour for it to even show up!
>>736480647thats soul. hitching rides to get to the lizard people island on everquest was peak mmo experience.
>>736480591>but overworlds didn't mean muchshit take
>>736480868It's the equivalent of walking in an open world game, you know this to be true.
>>736480926shut the fuck up zoomer
>>736479905>but lets not forget what a piece of fucking shit this wasMost people forget about XII though. It's not as shit as XIII or XV, it just sort of exists
>>736479905Ff12 was so much better than baby's first jrpg ffx
>>736479905FFXII was the big filter and it was incredible. It was too bold and well crafted for the people that ate up FFX and said "Hmmm, more zippers and assymetrical outfits, Nomura-san"
ff12 leaned way too hard into the "EVERYONE can do EVERYTHING" shit so characters don't really have strong identity. This is reflected in the mist quickenings which are just bursts of generic magic.Like everyone can cast Ultima in ff6/7/8/10 but Terra still transforms, Cloud has a giant sword and uses it in all his limits, Tifa has big tits and high kicks, Squall has Renzokuken, Quistis eats dinosaurs, Rusty uses Jecht Shot, etc. Only Balthier has kind of an identity with being a sky pirate or whatever but he doesnt even really want to use guns.
Nah, sure XII was a big disappointment after X, but it was still decent overall. Some aspects of it are actually excellent, which I didn't fully realize until my second playthrough because I was being a faggot about it the first time. There are almost no redeeming factors in XIII or XV. I don't have anything nice to say about either of them after a second playthrough of both, other than that I enjoyed listening to old FF tunes while riding in the car in XV.
>>736481209My characters had strong identity because of how I built them but I've only played the zodiac edition. The original with the giant board seems like it would suck
>>736479905I remember waiting months for Christmas and FF 1, staring at a full page ad I'd torn from Nintendo Power. I was 100% down for this series and then XII killed it entirely for me despite having a 7 foot tall bunny girl who sounds like Bjork in it. I couldn't even finish it. They changed too much shit all at once.
>>736481241Listening to old FF Tunes and fishing are the best things about 15. Everything else is the worst thing about 15.
>>736479905>RTWP, japanese edition
>>736479905A lot of people here are talking about zodiac age and not the original release, but OP I'm with you on this. Though lets not forget this shit began with FF11, which while mid as a game, had a banger soundtrack, setting, and aesthetics.
>>736479905>weeb fagtroon jrpgslopper dislikes the only entry in the franchise that has the most open ended gameplay, level design, most sidequests, build variety and freedomLet me guess, you love Final Hallway 10?
>>736480972 shutup nigger
>>736481209>EVERYONE can do EVERYTHINGthe game is built around it though. it would be a nightmare if only 1 or 2 characters could for example use ranged weapons which you need against flying enemies. FF12 is built around switching equipment and even party members mid combat. hell, you can even raise, heal and buff characters in reserve slots.
>>73647990512 > 15
>Forgettable story>Forgettable characters>Forgettable music>Forgettable locations>Combat that plays itselfIt's one of the most boring games I've ever played. I even played it a second time specifically so I would remember more about it and that entire playthrough has just left my mind
>>736479905>"I watched a youtube video and now I'm going to parrot some loudmouth's opinions"
>>736481723back in the day forums were full of "how do I beat garuda" or "how do I beat mateus" or "how do I beat ahriman" or "how do I beat king bomb" etc. those seem like memorable experiences to me.
>>73648166112>8>10>15>13
>>736481906majority of /v/ nowadays
>>736481337Most sidequests is hardly a selling point when it's the point when the offline games started including mmo tier quests like "desert patient" and other nonsense, and the game is hardly open ended beyond you being able to wander around and knock out quests earlier than in most of the other games. The only good point here is build variety.
>>736481723Wow adhd zoomers couldnt pay attention, more news at 10
>>736481583whatever, you only need ranged weapons for Garuda, and every other flying enemy you can just run away, and they even give you Vossler who uses Telekinesis on Garuda, or you could use Telekinesis yourself, or a gun user, or a bow user, or a crossbow user, or a pole (yeah, poles can hit flying enemies), or bombs (which I will admit come way too late in the game to be useful) or any magic, or several tecknicks, or a few items even, or you can even get creative with Nihopalao + potions. Literally dozens of options to deal with the 3 entire flying enemies in the whole game
12 is the only ff ive ever played and I love it, im considering playing xv
>>736482027no, don't
>>736481981>pole (yeah, poles can hit flying enemies)only in zodiac which is a version where "everyone can do everything" doesnt apply.
>>736479905This is exclusively ragebait. This is among the best games in the series. Post hand.
>>736482065oh, I forgot about that change. You now have eleven options to kill flying enemies instead of a square dozen
>>736482058(you) dont get a say on what I do
>>736482138I'll suck yo dick
The ones who love FF12 the most, seem to not be that fond of the FF series as a whole.I liked 12, but to me it is definately among the weakest entries in the series.
>>736482119and my point was that everyone having access to those measures in conjunction with mid battle equipment switching is a good thing. zodiac regressed in this regard which is why it for example had to make poles hit flying enemies.
>>736482369>definately*definitelysorry, but I'm going to have to disregard your entire post and every post you make from now on forever until the end of time because of this mistake
I hate it, it's so boring. The dialogue literally puts me to sleep as well as the grind. The characters are neither gay nor straight appealing to noone and certainly are soulless.
>>736482532That's fair. Thanks for pointing out my mistake.
Masterpiece of a boxart just like all the others in that style, I really miss them
It is among the few acceptable English dubs like Metal Gear.
