ITT: FOTMslop you got memed into buying at full price
>>
>FOTM
>discussed and developed over the course of years
>>
noita is for high IQ neets only, normies should stick to spelunky
>>
this is the only good game this shithole has ever recommended me
>>

but that's literally the best game of all time.

dunno, but in my case it was
>try noita
>this is cool
>put it down for months

>have to delete it and force myself to stop playing else it fully consumes my life

For me it was
>go in blind
>damn this game is really cool
>find out about the wiki
>realize there is an extensive amount of knowledge about mechanics, lore and gameplay that I need to learn
>don't have time
>play for 95 hours then stop
I still try to come back to it but I just don't have time...

>>
>>736480873
The fuck do you mean? Getting 600 hours out of a game is absurdly good.
>>
>>736481816
The value you get out of a game has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of hours you put into it
>>

>>736480873
Once you can consistently get a god run going, the game loses a lot of its luster
There needed to be more things that could threaten you even with 3 shields and twenty stacks of stainless armor
>>
Every few months I visit Noita again and put a couple 100 hours into it before taking a break, so for me I'd say it was worth every dollar i spent.

I am glad I bought it cheap, otherwise I would be pissed.

You had 600 hours on it.
Rain World is one of my favorite and I had probably half that time.

That happened to me with Kenshi. I bought it, put 200 hours into it in two weeks and then never touched it again.

Once you learn the tricks all you have left to do is meme puzzles that require 100 hour runs and you die to poly in 2 frames.

>>
>>736486073
Just one run? In a good 1hr play sesh, you may be getting 3-4 "good runs" going and lose it all. Noita is about grinding your axe over and over, not just relying on that one good run. Too much variety and too many different things to do
>>
>>736481642
For me it was
>Go in blind
>This is awesome
>Start to get the hang of wand building
>Rng keeps giving me shit
>Learn from the wiki you need to kill bosses to unlock some of the best spells for the rng pool
>Have to go from biome to biome trying to find wands ans spells to stand a chance against the weakest bosses like the pyramid boss
>Man some of these later enemies have unfair range and accuracy and keep hitting me from outside the screen
>What do you mean healing spells and healing potions are fucking rare? And 2 of those spells are bolts so you cant use them on yourself unless you get a modifier?
>Quit after 110 hours only able to kill pyramid bosses and dragon by using ping pong path and liminous drill before the lack of healing killed me on my way from the jungle to kill the alchemist
I know i can just use vampirism or blood money but thats my one gripe of noita. The rng is truly ridiculous when the % of some spells to spawn is rare plus being shared with many others on the tier list. Ping pong + liminous drill should be easy to craft since at most its tier 1 but damn if i can barelly find ping pong after 100+ hours
>>
>>736490472
lemme guess: you didn't even learn the heart mage trick?
>>
>>736490472
Wait you unlock shit? I thought it was true roguelike
>>
>>736492068
there's the greek letter spells that unlock when you kill different bosses. even when unlocked, they are incredibly rare. there's also a small number of other spells, like the nuke, that unlock when you collect certain orbs of true knowledge.
>>
>>736480749

>>736490472
>earn from the wiki you need to kill bosses to unlock some of the best spells for the rng pool
Yes and no, killing the Dragon in the Jungle biome will unlock orbiting fireball, which is completely OP in the early game.
Killing The Alchemist to get the Greek Letters is perhaps the more egregious example, but then they're so rare that you more or less have to kill that boss every time you want them anyway.
Other than those two I'm struggling to think of unlockable spells that will actively help you win, stuff like Divide By is fun but not essential. Nuke is actually underpowered I would say (as long as its not an enemy firing it from a wand they found)
>>
>>736490472
The best spell is unlocked already comes unlocked (chainsaw)
Some of the most OP wands (pingpong laser, homing chainsaw) are made with starting spells
Pyramid and dragon are the easiest bosses by far, dragon is just annoying because he can one shot you, but so can you if you know what you're doing, and you should find more than enough resources to kill him precisely at his level

I have a job.
>>

The game came out 5 years ago, even putting a few hours a day you would amass more than 500 hours. Even if you got it much later. Even if it was your "favorite games of all time" you should much more time even with your supposed job.
>>
>>736493993
"ONE of my favorites", you dyslectic fuck.
I count No More Heroes as one of my favorites as well, and I don't replay it every day, why would I? Who plays games that Way? You watch your favorite movie everyday too?

I don't care for games made by pretentious retards who make the "jump" button any other key than the spacebar
>>
bro got filtered by the fucking jump key
>>
>>736492068
You unlock spells, but the condition to unlock the spells is also how you acquire them.
So it's not like you need to grind shit in run 1 to get benefits in run 2. It's just that once you discover the hidden spells they can also show up in the random pools.
A fresh save can theoretically get everything in one go.

Yes it did.
>>
>>736495558
Noita is nothing like drova, noita is some shit "go down and shoot enemies" roguelite that has randomized weapons as the gimmick.
>>
>>736481786
>>736495868
Subhuman IQ, flash games arent bad. Getting memed into buying one full price is. Same niggers absolutely gush over the millions of different planets you can visit in NMS. This game has an hour worth of content at best
>>
>>736480873
That's how games are supposed to be. Imagine a million games with the same quality and soul as Noita for the same price. You would be set for life.
>>
I do appreciate you can play it as a normal roguelike/lite or as the most austistic, in-depth game ever made though I've never had the patience to truly learn the game.
>>
>>736485931
I think it's once you come to the realization that all you need is a way to teleport, a few copies of black hole (or just 1 with a greek letter) and like a 10% full jug of ambrosia and your run is basically completely busted. As soon as you can get to a parallel world it's over, you can get infinite gold, basically any spell, infinite tower wands, any perk setup you ever want, etc.
>>736482494
Yeah I can't imagine playing without Gondola Hamis.
>>736490472
You can heal with regular healing bolt or deadly heal with no modifiers. Jump down into water (ie in the holy mountain), shoot up, swim up into it.
There are also a few healing gourds around the map, like the cave in the upper left EDR wall by the cloudscape. That shit has come in clutch for me a handful of times, bit of traveling (and digging to stay safe from cloudscape assholes), but there's like 4-5 healing gourds that can each heal you for quite a bit, I think ~50% of your max HP.
If you find a flask of Pheremone you can pour that on healer hiisi to get them to heal you, or you can find other ways to get between them and a different enemy they're trying to heal.
Man I fucked those spoilers up hard lol
>>
>>736482234
In a long god run one of the biggest threats becomes figuring out how to die at the end.
>>
>>736482234
Polymorphine is always your biggest worry
Unless you spend hours farming immunity, but at that point you can't complain the game gets too easy
>>
>>736497580
there's actually a more deranged way to heal these days, you know those weakness spells?
there's a way to abuse them to take negative damage from those sources permanently

I don't like game design where I have to go to some third party website to read how to play the game because the game itself doesn't indicate anything.
>>
>>736499318
>>736499318
you don't HAVE to go to the wiki to play the game or even to beat it. yes, it will make things a lot easier for you, but it is entirely possible to do it all on your own.
>>
>>736499857
Yeah I feel like it's a pretty decent little roguelike just going straight down to Kolmi for a regular win. You don't need a wiki for that, you can take everything in the game at face value and have a bunch of different clear and relatively easy builds that can get you through the game. And then once you get good at that, exploring outside the main path can easily get you to like 5+ bosses. Some of the bosses can be hard to figure out though, if you can only get a run to them once every like 5 hours of play.
>>
>>736480749
This finno-ugric autism wizard simulator is exceedingly difficult, i have 300 hours in it and have barely gotten nowhere, i only won twice.

sucks you have to use such bait just to get a noita thread going

how do i do the fish quest?
>>
>>736480749
Don't play coy with me, you vantablack negro, I know you wanted a noita thread
Entangled worlds mod is very fun. I died with 16k hp, so my bud had to resurrect me through liberal nuke spam from the wand of destruction. The ceiling collapsed on me after every shot, getting me trapped and nuked over and over. The world has a 500 m deep ditch in the middle now.
I had trouble with the save file, some desync caused a god-wand I spent an evening assembling to despawn, and a bunch of shit I got from the work shops disappeared. How are your games, bros? Favorite spells, favorite boss, favorite way to die?
>>
>>736503742
Also the safe black hole mountain exit trick made the game a lot more enjoyable for me. You can get unlimited wand edits and no skeleshits in the coal pits already

Yeah this shit is the best. I even do it when I have teleport bolt because I inevitably collapse the mountain like a retard doing it that way. Webm related is from the wiki but you should really shoot the first bhole a little lower. Always make sure you don't have any spread on your wand too.
I'll even peck this shit out with a shitty luminous drill wand.

>>
>>736480749
It is good but I prefer to play it as if it wasn't a roguelike and try instead to see how hard I can break the game
I like keeping my health low and just one or two stacks of stainless armor, no permanent shield perks, and limiting the immunity perks you pick to a minimum, so you have to rely on alchemy + spells you have to craft and cast for protection. Makes you feel like a squishy mage using his magic actively for protection, instead of an invulnerable 100k hitpoints juggernaut that can facetank a nuke. You kinda have to mod the game so health pick ups don't increase your max health if you want to keep your hp squishy.

In fact, for perks just poison immunity alone is more than enough, so you can use boomerang toxic mist as a multi purpose spell for de-staining your stainless armor / anti fire / infinite levitation due to buoyancy, then boomerang circle of protection as a magic shield. Or even a cloud of bugs around you to soak up projectiles. You can add electricity immunity for convenience if you really, really want a lightning wand, iron stomach for alchemy fun, and some convenience perks like faster moving, but otherwise poison immunity is just enough if you want to keep perks minimal but still get to have and eat your cake.
Also get autohotkey so you don't go insane with the default slow ass process of switching wands and casting instead of just casting each spell with a single keypress
>>
>>736505093
I really appreciate how fair the game is. There's what, 5 ways to get out, poly, circle of displacement, tele bolt, tele potion, this digging trick, and you almost always get one thing from the list in the first three zones, the ones you can circle through ad infinitum. You get all the chances to win in every game if you know what you're doing. The game feels outer wilds-y, if you know the secrets, you can break it open in the first 15 minutes.
I dislike how the endgame is pretty broken. Texture corruption, no spell management like a locker or something for mass spell storage, can't collect large amounts of gold dust quickly, the fungus grows infinitely in the main elevator shaft and so on. I wish the devs had some boss unlock that added some QoL features for long god runs
>>
>>736481890
>>736480873
enjoyment you enjoyed it
just like me putting thousand hours in it and i still keep on coming back. it's the roguelike of all time. it just never bores you because of the wand building mechanic
>>
