>Buy a Japanese game>Play the entire thing from A to Z, using google translate for most of it.How feasible is this?
>>736489587Depends on the type of game. If it's a JRPG or VN, it's pretty much impossible since it's story/text heavy and 100%ing it will just make you go mad. However, on the flip side, there are some games that barely have any text in it at all past the menu screens like Beat em ups, fighting games or sports games and sometimes they're just straight up in English. If you're dealing with anything story heavy, it's impossible or extremely difficult at best. Anything relatively light on story and text, either completely easy or easy enough once you translate some menu text or the light supplemental reading.
>>736489587Many years before we played VNs by hijacking text stream via memory injector and translating it via Google or local programs
>using google translateThere are better tools for this, some that'll read and replace test onscreen as you're playing. You could probably find some by searching "japanese OCR translator" or "on-screen text replacer"More importantly, what game?
>>736489587Google translate is not very good. However you could still probably beat the game even without understanding the language.Like platformers for example are mostly alingual meaning you don't need to understand the language to play it.
>>736490103>More importantly, what game? Not anything completely text heavy, maybe something like a japanese version of OoT since they're cheaper in my country and I already played the recomp so I wouldn't need to be reading a lot of it.
