Old man here. They never came in a box. They were sent to you in a rough wrapping of flexible jerky. You could eat the jerky after you finished unwrapping it. I never figured out what type of meat it was, but it couldn't have been good

My psx box back in the day had a yellow back and predated dualshock. I've still got my demo one that came with the console at least.
