People get way too hung up on the primaris thing. The only reason Titus is a primaris is because of Games Workshop mandates.
Titus doesn't even start as one and there's literally no difference once he crosses the rubicon. It's purely "he's primaris now because GW said we have to have primaris marines, let's move on to the game".

It's like how all las weaponry in the setting are suddenly shooting bullets instead of laser beams now as of 2025. You are literally not allowed to release an official 40k game or animation anymore unless the lasguns shoot bullets.
