>>736498617will it sell 10M copies before the end of the year?
>>736498836It depends on which zelda formula uses, if BOTW formula, 20+ millions copies guaranteed, if OOT formula, 10- million copies
I might be interested if they keep mostly within the classic structure while marrying some elements of nu-Zelda in without destroying the aforementioned formula. No breakable weapons, less ubisoft shit, no memories style story, music that isn't the inoffensive atmospheric piano. No voice acting. Add some of botws freedom, but keep item progression and make it semi non-linear instead of completely open like the new games. If they make some dungeons available out of order, don't make them all have the same difficulty. Keep OoT's enemy variety. Don't add all the retarded lore from the newer games. If I see even one "zonai ruin" in the game I will kill a man. I'm positive that even if it turns out good it will be aesthetically and tonally inferior to the original. I'm expecting to see those awful mii Hylians everywhere instead of the charming exaggerated caricatures. What I would love is if they remained faithful to even the small details I get autistic about. Like the aesthetic of the menu or all the little harp noises for dialogue and such, or the camera centering noise sounding ominous in dungeons but normal in the overworld.
>>736498617Personally, as a 34 yo boomer, I don't really think it will be as memorable to first time players as much as the n64 one was to gamers at the time of release. I mention that because the context of the time matters, it's something people can't experience now because the tech is old and it's not "new" and on "next gen hardware" like it was back then. I also can't help but believe Nintendo will butcher the art style as well. Ho hum
>>736498617So many ways this could go wrong. If they screw up the visuals/art direction it’s as good as dead. If the gameplay is overhauled in anyway to reflect breath of the wild it’s also dead. Basically, if it has anything remotely to do with BoTW its finished.
will they include this?
>>736498617Problem is that it only targets nintendo fans.Would be better if it had a PC release so people who never played zelda would be curious
>>736498617Don’t need it. OG is fine and 3D was also fine. I don’t need another “fine” remake, make something new
They will BOTWfy it.
>>736501729Nintendo's better off ignoring PC.
I hope it will fail spectacularly and show devs that remakes are lazy. At some point they will run out of games to remake
>>736502029Maybe. But I'm not buying a switch. Would buy this on PC tho
>>736498617We have the remake. It’s called Ship of Harkinian. It does everything this inevitable bare bones minimalist remake does only better.
>>736498617Expand the map, OOT leans too heavy on the east side of the map, everything else in anemic. Add new areas, fuck even move some like Kokiri forest more down south. >Boost map size by 50%>Add a town or homes outside the market>Make Kakariko more natural, farther away and not just some staircase carved into a wall. Everyone hiding there while just being a few paces from Ganondorf is a joke let's be honest.>Add a snowy mountain northwest>Add canyon mines to the southwest>Add jungle to the south east>Keep the better overworld puzzles from BOTW, like shooting arrows through the statues with Kass. No Koroks>Smaller open world, but time travel effects more things in the other link's future. More things for Young Link to do>Mini bosses in the overworld>Mini dungeons around the map, base them off things like Mines, Ruined structures, etc.>Enemy camps with more mob diversity >Roaming NPCs>Stamina, sprinting and weapon types (No durability)>Mini Bosses around the map>Gated off content in the overworld that requires dungeon items. There, the perfect 10/10 game
>>736502446>for the kid link section retool it so the deku tree acts as the tutorial dungeon and after you can choose to do the fire/water dungeon in any order>as adult link retool it so we can do any of the 5 adult temples in any order>similar to a link between worlds in that regard>add master quest for beating the game>add more side quests>add a few new unlockable gadgets/equipment to throw you for a loop and make you rethink certain areas>expand castle town >don’t let us climb anything like botw>a sprint button is okay but keep the iconic roll>make sure the art direction stays true to the ocarina of time n64 promo art>make hyrule field bigger and denser
One of OoT's biggest wastes of potential is something the remake has a chance to correct. There needs to be more places Link can switch from child to adult than just the temple of time. They should let you switch in certain dungeons to expand puzzle possibilities maneuvering around child/adult Link's restrictions.
Honestly I'm expecting a 3DS upscale and nothing more. In which case I'm not interested as Ship of Harkinian is still the far superior OOT experience. At this point, I would like a complete re-imagining of the game. Recognizable as OOT with its story, landmarks and graphical style, but new, bigger overworld, overhauled dungeons (and some new ones) a rework of the time mechanic that makes it more prominent than just a light/dark world in discuise.
>>736500852>No voice actingIt's coming. That's the one thing you don't need a leak to know it's coming.
NO MORE GAS
>>736498617Real lighting or 3DS slop lighting?
>3DS and Ship of Harkinian both already provide modern graphics update alternativesGo fucking crazy. Go fucking nuts. Expand out everything, include things that were cut in development, include things they wanted to implement but couldn't due to technological limitations, give it a full total ground-up remake with a modern engine, massively expand out character interactions and locations, put in shitloads of new content in old places, go fucking crazy.>But anon, why would you want that? The original will always exist and there are two graphical update options. I can play any one of these THREE versions if I want to enjoy OOT. The remake going balls to the walls crazy won't change those games, it'll simply be another game entirely. Maybe it'll be great, maybe it'll suck, but shit this is exactly the kind of game you may as well go nuts with. And if it does suck the THREE alternatives will always be there to play instead.
>>736498836Probably like 6 million tops if its just a copy of the original but with better camera controls. If it adds BotW mechanics? Probably like 15 million.
>>736498617Will they make the carpenters faggots again like they were in Japanese? Literally a bunch of faggots; gays.

>>736509708oot aged like milk and is dogshit.
>>736509801>it's bad because I actually have to play the main quest and can't just go right to the final boss
>>736498617There's still too much walking.
add climbing, scale stamina to amount of hearts you have, make each sage medallion give you a spell, bring back bottles, bring back scarecrows song and make it so you can summon pierre in a location as a hookshot target in the overworld to make your own shortcuts, do a fake out where instead of dampe giving you hookshot he gives you his shovel, let adult link use boomerang and do more with it, get hookshot in water temple, use megaton hammer in the bongo bongo fight somehow, there's a lot they could do that would be cool that they wont do but maybe it will be fun, idk
>>736509856i couldnt even begin to give a fuck about any of that. oot is a relic of early 3d. it is extremely primitive and it aged like milk. every single aspect of it has been surpassed by later games, and even older games are still better made like lttp.
>>736502446>>736502964Interesting points, and the circled areas are exactly what I was thinking to expand the game on. Here are mine.>Expand the Haunted Wasteland, add some extra areas and a path leading to a Gerudo village>Expand on the Lost Woods, add an optional dungeon for child Link midway through the adult segments, example, the Golden Scale would be needed to dive deep underwater towards another area>Add a sewer complex under Hyrule Castle Town, when you get the Ocarina of Time, there's a small ditch you can climb out of to the right, the Ocarina could float in the ducts and you'd have to find it>Climb up further in the Gerudo Valley and discover a second training ground, one that utilizes all your weapons and items>Find an alternate path to Death Mountain Crater that leads even deeper down underground>The passage from the Graveyard to the Windmill, with other paths leading to other rooms or even the bottom of the well itself>All towns and villages, this goes without saying>All the grottoes with one chest and gossip stone talking about Ganondorf's horse are overhauled completely. Keep one as is but change the rest>Hyrule Field as Adult Link should have randomized enemies, mainly pic related with a few others, like Dinofols near the valley area>Adding on to your idea, the Ice Cavern connects to the snowy mountain
This is gonna sink nintendoNo one wants this. We have the n64 version, the gamecube version, the 3ds version, the native pc recompilation.Nintendo is completely disconnected from reality just like capcom
Actually i take my post backOnce hackers get the game to people for free modders will fix it and make it half decent with romhacks just like alttp or oot or mm which are all pretty mid

>>736511713Pretty damn good progress, considering the decomp only finished up less than 4 months ago.
>>736510868This. Just make another game in the OoT universe
>>736498617Why is everyone talking about this as if it's confirmed? when did it stop being a rumor?
They're going to take all the edge away.
I only wish they didnt dub the games because it just doesnt fit the tone of the series. They should go for gibberish like in ICO and the like. But its the one mistake i know nintendo will never fix.
>>736511616there were two breakable weapons: Deku sticks, and the fake-biggoron sword. And they were the exception, not the rule, and the deku-stick fulfilled other functions. You are a dishonest piece of shit if you serously want to pretend that this is the same situation as in botw.
The stream from Gerudo Valley goes all the way up to Death Mountain. Interesting.
>>736498617Make it directed by Koizumi.
I have OoTsnoy fatigue
>>736498617It's going to be a well-received, polished game that takes an already easy game and dumbs it down even further.
>>736502446>>736510815Touching up Hyrule Field and going full Ura-Zelda with modern hardware does sound appealing.
>>736508897It's fair to say that the PCowards of South America, India, slavic countries, SEA, China, etc can't afford Nintendo hardware, yes. Pic related would be considered upper class.
>>736498617If it’s more than 60 bucks I won’t be purchasing.
>>736498617The original game is still perfectly playable and the 3ds remake provides the perfect remastered experience with smoother controls and a cleaned up artstyle. I hope this is more of a Destroy All Humans kind of remake and not a Halo Campaign Evolved. I want to see combat drastically improved, cut content remade, and any transgender and rape jokes removed
They better keep Malon's milkers N64-sized.
>>736498617If they manage to get the original voices for Link to rerecord instead of using 28 year old audio files I'll ascend.
>>736498617>monolith outright saying they're doing a zelda game>they posted their 'resume' to share their experience with the series>albw is the only decent game they've worked on>botk>and fucking SKYWARD SWORDGotta be honest /v/ros, the way the pieces are lining up, I'm thinking it's over.
>>736498617I hope it's not just the same game again. If they greatly expand it, I may have to buy a Switch 2.
>>736502964I don't understand why they didn't just let you choose whether to first visit the gorons or the zoras in the original game. There's no part of Jabu Jabu's Belly that requires the Goron Bracelet or Bombs. They could've let the player decide. Also, going to Hyrule Castle just to get a letter from Zelda should be completely optional.
>>736515557that's cremia though
>>736515557One of the only guaranteed plus-sides to the remake regardless of how they go about it is that we get to see the old OOT girls again.
>>736515557Thats Cremia
Nintendo I will pay double the price if you use normal voice acting instead of anime voice acting.
I dont really care about the overall Zelda franchise. I only care OOT and the OOT connected games like MM and WW and TP. Can they just make a team who makes more OOT connected games?
>>736516607Why can't you just skip dodongo and go straight to zoras domain again?
>>736517143Not while Aonuma breathes. And Fujibayashi only cares about making more Skyward Sword slop, so he won't give it to you either.
>>736517287Every way to Zora's Domain is blocked by explodable rocks.
>>736506525>big muscular men are big scaredy cats (raughs)
>>736517287You need the bombs. Technically, you get them a minute or two before activating the rising platform and opening the giant skull's mouth, so you technically could just bail out of the cavern there and go do the Zora's Domain stuff. But at that point, you've only got like three more rooms left before you fight the boss (arguably the easiest boss in the game at that), so why would you do that? Just to say you did?
>>736498617Can't discuss something that doesn't exist, but I'll be here front and center to watch the meltdown when Nintendo doesn't announce it at their next direct.

>>736517027Do you want voice acting?
>>736518793Probably an unused concept that simply was never reachable in the final product by not being created.
>>736517143This is the biggest problem with OoT "fans", they only play and care about OoT and hate or ignore literally everything else. Everything people claim BotWfags will be, OoTfags already are.Ocarina of Time has done more damage to the series than anything else. It was a mistake and should never have been made.
>>736518793That may have been that courtyard that was in the gigaleak, the one with the well in the center, but like the other anon said, it was probably scrapped after that map was made.
>>736516782>Piche technically did.Don't care about headcanon. But isn't it funny how TP's Zora was the most humanoid and Rutela had hair and a Zora tunic that fit a Hylian Male?Link also had a horse named Epona that responses to the same exact song from Ocarina of Time and music from Hyrule Field at night?I'm all for this pairingTeam Hippocampus

>>736498617We already have this on the 3ds. Just do a port of that version, hd it, fix the small bugs and that's all. Don't do anything else cause I know nintendo will do something bad with it like they did with majora's mask
Here's my wishlist:- Make it so that anything wooden can be hookshotted to, no bullshit arbitrary "this is wooden but we didn't code it to be hookshotted to" things.- Expand Hyrule Field and fill it out a bit, give more reason to use Epona, and make it more interesting to explore rather than there just being a few stalchilds to fight during night- Graphics maybe in the BotW engine but inspired by the art style of OOT's concept art- generally faithful dungeons and areas, but remove loading screens between areas and resize things to make it work- navi's hints are smarter and actually can tell whether you're intentionally avoiding the main quest or not (maybe based on whether you have it set in an added quest log)What it's actually going to be:- a straight port of the 3DS version
>>736518995AlttP faggots are even worse you guys have no actual legitimate arguments for why OoT “ruined the franchise” and jerk off Egosloptor’s shitty videos
If Nintendo actually wanted money:>built in randomizer mode>"classic mode" which preserves the original graphics and functionality (individually togglable) including speedrunning glitches>optional QoL/accessibility features that make the game very easy to play for normies>graphic sex scene between Adult Link and Saria
>>736498617No, I don't trust it. I have PTSD from the Majora's Mask remake.
>>736519796Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are in a tie for my favourite. The tone and the writing is way better in those 2 games compared to all the other Zelda games.
>>736498617I will buy it even if it sucks.
I'm not sure how they're gonna do it. Maybe RE8 style, where some of the areas are more open, but the game is still mostly linear. I'd be interested in that, assuming the optional content is good.

>>736520789I agree, I think it's funnily enough a result of technological limitations. They couldn't stuff that much character development into the games through events or raw dialogue so they had to use more clever narrative suggestions and tonal cues to convey the points they were trying to make. Kind of a sweet spot in the history of the franchise when it comes to those things.

>>736498617It just feels weird for them to go straight from Botw/Totk to OoT when it seemed like the open world sandbox minimalist story was their new method of operation. Like there should be an intermediate mainline console release before that acts as a test for merging the story driven linear dungeon aspects of OoT and the game mechanics they want to keep from nu Zelda. Also I haven't yet gotten my life together since I played OoT as a kid, Link would be disappointed in me.
>>736501042it wont be as memorable but ocarina of time has the most secondhand cultural cred of almost any game. a lot of people have spent their entire life hearing about how it's the greatest game ever without ever playing ita lot of people will finally have a go, especially if they pretty it up. the low-poly look scares away a lot of people
>>736527698The problem is that openslop Zelda takes fucking forever to make (it took them 6 years to asset-flip BotW, and that was on a previous generation of hardware), but the 2D remake/throwback games usually don't sell nearly as much either and are usually seen as more of almost spinoffs or novelties (in part due to their greatly simplified art styles). Getting smaller-scale *3D* games back in the mix would help shore up the Zelda release schedule.

>>736502446>Boost map size by 50%I'm cool with this as long as it's not long stretches of barren land. My hope would be for the Gerudo Desert and Hyrule Field to be expanded with more secondary landmarks and optional overworld puzzles.>Add a town or homes outside the marketIf you're talking about Castle Town, then I'd prefer if they just expanded the town's streets and included extra houses inside the walls, especially since Kakariko Village is already so close to Castle Town.>Make Kakariko more natural, farther away and not just some staircase carved into a wall. Everyone hiding there while just being a few paces from Ganondorf is a joke let's be honest.Makes sense, but I don't know where else you would put it. You could either move all of the other Hyrule Field exits clockwise so that Kokiri Forest is closer to Lake Hylia, or you could just expand Hyrule Field like I mentioned earlier so that the transition to Kakariko is more natural.>Add a snowy mountain northwestIce Cavern already exists. Plus I don't even know what the purpose of another major landmark like a mountain would be except to make the game more like Twilight Princess.>Add canyon mines to the southwestThis could make more sense, especially if it ties into the carpenters who travel to Gerudo Valley. Maybe it could be a small Hylian/Goron mining settlement with sidequests and minigames, plus a small optional dungeon at the bottom of the well. >Add jungle to the south eastCould be a cool as a harder version of the Lost Woods, with the withered remains of an ancient Deku Tree as another optional dungeon.>Keep the better overworld puzzles from BOTW, like shooting arrows through the statues with Kass. No Koroks100% agree. Hyrule Field needs more shit to do in it.>Smaller open world, but time travel effects more things in the other link's future. I'd like to see a Ganondorf fight as Young Link once you meet him at the drawbridge.>Mini dungeons around the map, base them off things like Mines, Ruined structures, etc.I'd be careful with the implementation of this, since I wouldn't want the overworld to turn into Breath of the Wild with all of the ruined structures. Any additional dungeons should feel properly fused with the existing world and era, and Ocarina of Time Hyrule isn't a post-apocalypse.>Enemy camps with more mob diversityI wouldn't want BotW's copy-paste enemy camps. Maybe just a couple in the overworld post-timeskip with a variety of Ganondorf's minions.>Roaming NPCsDecent idea. Maybe a couple of wandering traders or knights patrolling the kingdom.>Stamina, sprinting and weapon types (No durability)Disagree. At that point, you're just making Breath of the Wild again. A few extra weapon types are fine, but I would want the combat to focus more on using the right skill or weapon rather than stamina management.>Mini Bosses around the mapAgree.>Gated off content in the overworld that requires dungeon items.100% agree.

You know those Stalfos from Master Quest that need to be killed twice? They should bring those back as "second level" Stalfos in later areas (maybe with red cloth instead of blue) but, as a nod to LttP's Stalfos Knights, let you fully kill them by using Bombs (or the Megaton Hammer) on their remains before they fully recombobulate.
If they feel the need to do it again, I hope they cover up Ruto in a way that makes sense this time. These "scales" she had over her titties last time look like they would flop over as soon as she goes swimming, and my 'tism couldn't stop hating it.

>>736530642If this rumor is true, then almost certainly in both cases. They're definitely taking some stylistic cues from BotW (like Zelda wearing blue and Link not having a hat right away) but there's 0% chance they're gonna work purely off of BotW plot-wise.
>>736498617I hope that if Monolith Soft are the main devs, that they have complete creative freedom with it and they aren't beholden to bullshit from Nintendo about anything. Last thing that I want to hear is>We had to alter the designs because of "modern sensibilities"When most of OoTs designs are completely tame with only one or two exceptions
>>736530769Zelda wore blue in the 90s too.
>>736527070built for vore
>>736530943There was a really great old Zelda comic in this style. Might even be lost to the internet at this point.
>>736530943Fine, smartass. Blue outfit with pants.
ocarina of time is my favorite game of all time and i desperately do not want them to make a remake of it. the original is a timeless masterpiece and it needs to remain that way
>>736498617It hasn't even been confirmed. I don't care about your twitter bullshit you tranny
This should be a good place to post it.https://files.catbox.moe/3yrsnb.zip (OOT)https://files.catbox.moe/pbes2e.zip (MM 2ship)https://files.catbox.moe/0bl8bv.zip (MM Recomp)
>>736531138It will remain that way regardless. Do you think they're going to go back in time and erase it's existence or something?
>>736530642More then likely. The Movie will basically be OoT-lite. Someone tried to pass of a leak that said the game isn't really a "remake" but is a sequel that reuses the same map ideas. It will be Link after he grew up again, when he was part of the war against Ganondorf.
>>736531197A full-fledged remake will be its primary depiction in Nintendo's eyes and most people. Getting the Resident Evil Remake treatment (or god forbid the FF7R treatment) would be tragic for OoT.
>>736531412This is fucking ocarina of time. The game is entrenched, no one's forgetting it.>or god forbid the FF7R treatmentFF7R doesn't replace the original, they're still releasing the original on everything and people still play it
>>736530943At the beginning, yes. When you rescue her near the end of the game, she's wearing the pink dress.
>>736501560Tendies are scum of the earth.
>>736531195What's this?
>>736517143Nigga, every Zelda from Zelda 1 to SS are all connected to OoT.
>>736531195Okay, which ones have multiplayer randos? And I'm not talking about that Multiwarld or Archipelago crap, I mean running around Hyrule together with anons using Miku, Reimu, and Waluigi modelsYou know, like the good old days
>>736528528That one image of a Lizalfos raping Ruto in the ass has stuck with me ever since I was a kid.
>>736531567I don't know how it works but OOT PC finally had some sort of multiplayer implemented.
>>736531567There's a separate branch of Ship of Harkinian that has that iirc.
>>736499195In a perfect world we get classic 3d dungeons with a botw overworld. Give link some permanent damage options (the kokiri sword, master sword, biggoron sword), but also scatter stronger weapons with durability/elements/etc.
>>736527796Pandering to nostalgiafags is hard as fuck. They bitch about everything.
>>736531730>In a perfect world we get classic 3d dungeons with a botw overworld.Retard.
>>736531760I have turned towards the opinion that a remake should actually do something different because the original is right there.I don't need time janny tier shit, but something new is good.
Shame it'll be for the switch 2I'm not buying a switch 2I do want to replay oot though and it would be a good opportunity if it's real
>>736501560What does Stan Lee have to do with Zelda? Robin Williams at least named his daughter after it.
won't be buying unless they restore all the cut content they showed at AGDQ
Cool, a remake of a remake.Joy.
>>736532729this nigger watches speedrun trannies lol
>>736498617I really liked this idea from an anon. Game titled “Ocarina of Time 2” in JP. Much like how ALBW was Triforce of the Gods 2. Honestly I’m super satisfied that my obsession about that Zelda listing on Monolith’s site paid off. If this remake is real, it’s totally their project. https://arch.b4k.dev/v/thread/736487942/#q736490043
>>736531787The problem is that a BotW Overworld doesn't really add much to the structure of OoT without totally reinventing the game into being what amounts to a BotW expansion pack. If you throw in a gigantic expanse that has shit in every corner, the dungeons can't work the same way as they used to by the sheer nature of the sandbox "player has tools for everything" design, even after TotK tried to strip back things a bit. You basically can't have Ocarina of Time dungeon structure and items in a game that lets you climb nearly any wall and constantly have to improvise everything you come across, they're incompatible with each other unless the devs just straight up mix old formula back in like unlocking the tools across the game world (instead of assist spirit shit) and structured design every so often in full in ways that the prior games plus Echoes haven't tried. And at that point you may as well be making a new game instead of a remake.
>>736532982I'd pretty much just look at hyrule field and turn it into a plateau equivalent. Have stuff hidden behind items you will still get in the dungeons.
>>736498617Hopefully they ditch the need to go into dungeons and use whatever equipment you get in there. I've been spoiled by Botw to go back.
>>736533469Aonuma/Fujibayashi importing you Ubithesda H-1Bs into the Zelda fanbase has been a fucking disaster jesus christ
>>736533563I'll second this
>>736533469
>>736533563>>736533667The frustrating part is that because BotW was the best selling game in the franchise, we're just stuck with this now: "the next game has to be more BotW", "a remake has to be like BotW", "how will they make OoT more like BotW?" You can't have a Zelda conversation without the damn thing. You can't discuss game logic or sequels or anything without this shit. People just flood in talking about BotW and how it's so much better or how they fuckin hate it. The series conversation beyond Zelda girls has been permanently corrupted.
what if they change it so zelda and link are brothers?
>>736533839The worst part is how they've intentionally dishonestly exaggerated Aonuma and Fujibayashi's words to claim BotW is LE ZELDA 1 REVIVAL to falsely position it as having seniority over the entire prior fucking series. They really are fucking slimy like indians.>The series conversation beyond Zelda girls has been permanently corrupted. That's not even sacred anymore, BotW-firsts are now starting to also bitching about the Gerudo in OoT.>>736533858That'll be the movie, silly!
>>736533839>series conversation beyond Zelda girlsThose threads here at least are just blogposting and the same twenty-ish images being dumped over and over again.
>>736534000I even saw a "Zelda girls" thread that was dedicated to Zelda. It's fucking disgraceful how far they've fallen.
>>736534000To be fair, Zelda art of past games is also kind of stalled, so if you like Malon or Saria you're stuck with the same shit people have been stuck with for quite a while besides the HW boost.
>>736533839how do we make this post more like botw
>>736533914Everyone knows Aonuma told a massive lie since he couldn't even finish LoZ.
>>736498617More Young Link content will always be good in my world.
>>736498617We don't need endless fucking remakes. Make new games.
>>736534114Everybody except the loud majority, unfortunately.
Played through it again recently after the rumor dropped. Honestly still holds up, though the tone and soundtrack are doing a lot of heavy lifting.
>>736498617Everytime I use a toothpick I cant help but smell it after. It honestly smells like a chicken coop.
>>736502446>Boost map sizeI think this is actually the weakest part of most "Open world" games, they're too big with too little. I recently replayed New Vegas and the map is very, very small, but is extremely densely packed and the quests and interactions have a ton of variety and ways to interact, so although it's "Small", they packed so much it feels fun and enjoyable. OoT is very good "because" it's short and sweet and doesn't overstay it's welcome at any point, trying to build on that is tricky, because it's very easy to lose the brevity.Mini bosses in the overworld and more in hyrule field is a good idea, though. Mob camps and trying to make it more like BoTW, is a mistake, though. >Stamina, sprinting, weapon typesNo. That's losing the brevity for too little reward. We shouldn't try making OoT: BoTW edition, it should build upon the simple and refined base, giving more to play with within that scope is great, but adding more moving parts, is more places for it to break down.
>>736498836why are tendies obsessed with sales numbers
>>736534346The Switch era saw Nintendo pivot to conditioning new fans into treating Nintendo fandom as a status symbol. The same way Sony did with Playstation starting with the PS3.
>>736498617I hope they expand overall ideas. Like, the Lost Woods, make it actual woods instead of a bunch of rooms, or a bigger Lake Hylia where you can fish as well, etc.
Cant wait for even more handholding!
>bring back bait bag>have multiple types of fishing bait. Worms, crickets, minnows, stink bait, corn, etc.>multiple lures like spinners, ploppers, cranks, jigs, etc.>can use bait casting reel outside of just a ducking designated pond>multiple types of fish that hide under foliage, have spawning paths, seasonal catching times, and other rare types like the loach>get to go fishing with other npcs like that time I took the best girl of tp out on the pond>dedicated bait and tackle shops>online leaderboards with best catches and tournaments >souls like invasion where I can go fishing in someone else's gameC'mon nintendo
>>736498617>all these people suggesting new shitI'll accept minimal new shit, maybe some post game content and master quest type things built in from the get go.OOT is one of the most legendary games ever made, even if you don't agree it doesn't change the reality of the games impact and reputation. Everything from the music, art, gameplay, controls, cutscenes, story was phenomenal for the day.I don't see how they can remake it properly, the 3DS version was a great attempt with some handy considerations for its hardware (everything is brighter because its a portable game). It'll be on the Switch 2 so what do they even plan to do graphically? They can't make it look photorealistic so HIRE THIS MAN is out, they fucking adore the BOTW/TOTK era zelda branding so I imagine it'll look closer to BOTW artstyle than anything else.
>>736534036I only went to those threads because I hated how poisoned the usual Zelda threads were and it's baffling how they operate there.>Some of the waifufags haven't played the games their waifu appeared in>Some forced rivalry with Midnafags>Threads sometimes gets spammed by a Zelink shipperI've honestly just given up on them. These remake threads have had some good discussion so I welcome it, the remake, not so much depending on how they handle it.
TP fags are the most performative Zelda fans out there. Your whole game is just a “le serious” OOT knockoff. Kys. OOT will forever be thee Zelda game.
>>736535442Funnily enough after playing hyrule warriors again I actually want to try TP again. I didn't like it too much at the time but it had some extremely COMFY areas and I liked the absolute fucking weirdo character designs. The real irony of TP is that for a game about shadows, the game itself lives in OOTs shadow.
I like TP in my top 5(Lttp, Ages/seasons,OoT, TP and awakening) because it's a sequel to OoTBe angry
>>736533839Zelda girls threads have been plagued with a schizophrenic BotWfag for a while now unfortunately so they're starting to die off. The last one archived at only 200 posts after he got banned for posting porn (he later just evaded it and went back to spamming the catalog with Zelink threads). He basically just ran everybody off.
>>736534346lots of people enjoy sales numbers now
>>736498617its going to kill the mystique of the game
>>736532982I could see them working in botw-lite elements without fucking up the classic formula. Add climbing except with severely limited stamina so as to not trivialize progression. You can't upgrade it either. Think of WW Link's swimming limit and you have the right idea. The only exceptions are the vines and rocky outcrops that allow you to climb infinitely. You could use this for neat puzzles and exploration, using vines to 'boost' Link's freeform climbing. There could even be child/adult Link differences, with young Link being a child and weighing less, he could climb and sprint for a little bit longer. Why not go further? Adult Link can sprint faster and jump farther than young Link (I know this is true in the og game, but make it a more relevant mechanic). The puzzle and combat possibilities are endless if you let players switch in dungeons. Make the player think about the dungeons temporally instead of just structurally too. Add weapons, but instead of common breakable weapons, you have fewer that act as treasures expanding Link's moveset. Maybe after beating the final Gerudo warrior, she gifts you her pair of dual scimitars. Or maybe you get it for completing the training grounds. But that's only if the devs know what they're doing including those features in the classic formula. If I had the choice between just a 100% faithful remake and OoT but full on BotW, I'd much, much rather have the former.
While I’m not a total fan of botw the idea of getting oot Hyrule in full breadth open world is exciting to me
>>736498617Just replayed the original through ship of Harkinian, it really does still hold up.If they want to expand the game don't do an FF7 remake, do more of an expansion, build on top of what exits, consider cut content and push qol features, then do the same for Majora's Mask and then make a third game, develop it in tandem with remakes of Ocarina and Majora's Mask.>>736502446Would be nice, I hate how so much of the world is crammed together in the north east.
Why is everything from 1998 so ugly?
