He was supposed to be watching him.
Why do people not get that and misconstrue something about how he covered him when diving?

why did she do it?

What I don’t understand is why Shelby even targeted him? He was there when Ethan jumped in front of the car and fully shielded him from the impact without a second thought (and he somehow still died) so clearly he has already shown that he’s willing to give his life to save his son which is exactly what Shelby’s Saw gauntlets are trying to test. Why choose him over literally anyone else?

I remember booting this up and thinking it was a nice comfy slow paced game at the beginning. Then

there are other reasons for the marriage to break up from a child death besides it being his fault. he could have broken his neck falling down a staircase at school and they still could have broken up.

it depends on whether or not the person goes under the car and under the tires. a fairly low speed collision could be deadly if they go under the car in a bad way.

Weren't they working on some DOA Star Wars game? The studio must have panicked realized SW is a dead IP, maybe they are retooling everything or just simply scrapped it all. Would explain the years of absolutely nothing.

It's like they really wanted to show the scene but we're too afraid to be obvious about a kid getting killed

The way the scene is shot it looks like the car stops with more than enough time and even if not Ethan would be the only one actually hit.

Early GameFAQs theories was that Ethan got concussed in that scene and hallucinated the whole game, his kid was fine

Your wife kills one of your kids by leaving them in the bath unattended and they drown

Do you stay married to her? Do you trust her with the other kid?

Only good thing about the game IMO. I was really disappointed with this game. It was extremely overhyped, especially about the level of interactivity, which was pretty extremely limited. In the beginning tutorial when you were ordered to set the table before your wife got home, I wanted to do fast movements to fail the input to have the character flung the plates into the wall instead, causing a huge mess before the wife comes home. But you couldn't even do that...
>>
>>736499486
>>736500786
It's still in development. Beats me why anyone would fun video game development for 7+ years.

It was a road in the middle of an extremely populated mall with tons of cross walks. There is literally no way any of these cars would be going faster than 20 miles an hour MAX. I always found it silly that they were somehow going fast enough to kill Jason on impact
>>
>>736499213
It's his fault for not putting the retard on a two foot leash, you literally can't trust kids to not go on suicide missions because they unconsciously know this world sucks ass and don't want to live in it.
>>
>>736499486
After what he did to Ellen Page, they cast him out of the industry.
>>
>>736504860
That’s way different from the kid wandering off while you are distracted paying someone for like 7 seconds and they just wonder into the street and you STILL manage to catch up to them and jump in front of the car for them and end up in a coma. I would see that as an act of god at that point that the kid died because he did basically everything he could

>>

He selects fathers that he believes have the ability to beat him. When Ethan tried to protect his son he showed potential. Shelby doesn't do it to punish bad dads, he wants a dad good enough to "beat" him.

Seriously. Heavy Rain's atmosphere is peak for an open world game. I want to extract every location, recreate the entire map of Heavy Rain's city and then port that map to an open world game like GTA 4.

As someone who was around when this promotional trailer dropped, I feel like the response on /v/ permanently altered my perception of the game where it's impossible to take any moment from it seriously. With no egageration, every moment came off as so bizzarre and it was scrutinized to such a degree that I can't watch this scene without laughing. I really can't overstate how almost every line, frame, background character, etc. became something people would just post over and over in a constant thread mocking it.

My favorite thing is still the look this random kid shoots you after you think you found Jason.

as corny as it is, at least the games had fail animations. i played through dispatch when it came out and intentionally failed every qte after i realized that it didnt matter, that the animation would just continue regardless of your input.

Because his (older) games are just plain entertaining, something that it seems like a lot of developers have forgotten how to make. Yeah they were janky and weird, but they were unique and interesting and I'll always take that over the boring paint-by-numbers games we're inundated with today. Whatever you might think of Cage, or Molyneux, or Kojima, you have to at least admit they made games with an actual vision behind them, not slop designed by a committee of 60 year old middle managers who don't even play video games.
>>
>>736516502
I'm reminded of the mindless boring dragon age veilguard cutscenes
