Do y'all remember this series? I vividly remember playing it when I was just a kid and I recently discovered I still had it in my 3DS (which was still somehow working btw) so I started playing it again and I was surprised by how suprisingly decent and full of content the game is considering the hardware limitations of the console it's on. Lowkey underrated series. What the hell happened to this game series? Did it disappear off the radar, at least in the west? Is there still a fanbase and a player base for these games? will it ever come back?
>>736501593Yo Kai Watch was great. When pokemon was slumping in the early-mid 2010s this was a fantastic alternative. Wish I had picked up the 3rd one when it was new. I intended to but there was other stuff out at the time that I wanted and before I knew it prices skyrocketed to an unreasonable degree so I just bought it digitally before the eShop closed so I was at least supporting the developers and not feeding into reseller mania. I wish the Switch games they've made actually got localized but I don't think they performed well enough in the states to warrant it so us westerners might never see the series again unfortunately. For a moment you could tell Game Freak was intimidated by this hot new rival monster catching series on the scene because Generation 7 of Pokemon borrowed HEAVILY from Yo Kai Watch.
>>736501979Fuck man. That hurts. Lowkey Yo-kai watch I guarantee is better than the newer pokemon games. Pokemon has fallen off so hard that I think we might do well with an alternative that features a similiar concept but in a different way. I think Yo-kai Watch would be better than the new pokemon games, I feel like the creators care a lot more about the quality of their games than GameFreak does. Hopefully the Pokemon series becomes better or Yo-kai Watch makes a return in the west again. I think we can do with that.
>>736501593I love those games. The sequels are so much better.Level 5 over milked the cash cow. Now it's dead. The brightest stars burn out the fastest.
