You only get banned if you tell your bot to do like 10 MDs in a day, which no one sane would do because you'll end up with thrice more crates than you need to get & upgrade everything in the game.
No one in my friend list was removed so i assume it's all good.

From reading Arcalive posts this was mainly to crack down on chinks botting accounts to then resell. A lot of the gooks didn't get banned apparently.
