>play old game>get hit by a wave of optimism and sincerity Damn it's crazy how this vibe was so common back then and then literally vanished from games
>>736513331Same with movies. Now all the color is drained from them and no originality is left. I blame Jews/women
any good modern indie game is more sincere than the average ps2 corporate rushjob, and if you disagree it's because you haven't played more than the FOTMs /v/ spoonfeeds you.
>>736513331I just started Shadow of Rome actually and yeah, it's incredible. Also started UT2004 campaign mode and it's way cooler than I was expecting. You draft a team and they all have stats in 5 different AI aspects including stuff like tactics which determines how well they manage items/the flag, shield spawns. I'm only playing on the 6th hardest difficulty out of, I think 9 or 10. Remember when AI used to be really good and they focused on it as a selling point? Also started Burnout 3 and the amount of content that's just there, no questions or bullshit added... I'm just gonna play PS2 era shit forever at this rate.

>>736513469I have Deadeye Deepfake Simulacrum installed right now. It's soulful, but it's not 30 nerd-bro-dudes with a decade of experience working together to master their craft levels of quality-soul. They can't be compared, one has 1000x more man hours put into it
>>73651346990% of indie shit is just that: indie shit. 5% are interesting if regularly isolated or short one-offs. the remaining 5% is the actual good shit. beyond that, no one needs to act like they're "above the norm", just fucking play what interests you and is within your budget and/or reach. i can assure you, the 1k anons rumbling about here do not give a fuck unless you try to attention whore about it.
>>736513469I don't think you even understand what sincerity is
>>73651375090% of retro games are shit toohttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturgeon%27s_law
>>73651550190% of retro games are shit, 99.999999% of modern games are shit because there's 10k of them releasing monthly and there's maybe one good one every year
>>736515610>there's maybe one good one every yearplebs who say shit like this only try two or three new games a year.
>>736516137Your standards are incredibly low, no wonder for people who grew up with smartphone garbage, the darkest age of AAA, and the gayest age of indie games
>>736516242you haven't even heard of ten of the games there sempai you're not fooling anyone
