Bloodborne and Sekiro are the best fromsoft games. The fact that they filtered shield shitters (the vocal people who think complaining about the lack of a "build variety" makes them smarter or understand good game design) is just a bonus. The reason why they both had negative reviews and casuals complaining about the difficulty being too hard was due to this vocal part of the community (the majority of souls players) crying to get their crutches back. They had to EARN their skill, and they couldn't. Same reason they got filtered by hollow knight and silksong.>I beat dark souls hiding behind a shield! I beat elden ring (after nerf patches)! I should be able to beat silksong!Nuh-uh. Get good or go back to >>>/tv/

>>736535001Isn't holding down the block button essentially a shield?
>The reason why they both had negative reviewsThey are universally praised, what the fuck are you on.
do not engage with bait
>press b to avoid damagecool>press l1 to avoid damageNO NO NO
>>736535001The only dark souls game where shields are good is ds1 though. And shields are not even among the top 3 crutches on Elden Ring. Summoning, the mimic tear and ranged magic trivialize the game way more and so did jump heavy attacks with strength weapons back when I played it.
>>736535001who fucking uses a shield? so boring
>>736535363I thought I hated sekiro style parry combat, but I loved Nine Sols so I guess I just hate it on a 3rd person 3d camera perspective and realistic artstyle.God I love the Nine Sols bosses so much
Shields are great, sekiro is fine because you literally don't need one, but in ER sure you can beat the game without one I normally two hand anyway, but having a shield is a nice way to actually be able to stand your ground in the game which in Sekiro you can do by deflection in ER you can only do that by rolling, so if you get into a fight in a narrow area where you can fall off the edge, then a shield is great. Mind you AoW totally negate the need for a shield in most cases, giant hunt basically deals with 95% of enemies except some of the amped up BS ones from the DLC e.g. horned warriors.
>kicks your shit in repeatedly with a bunch of bastard enemies and bosses>has a headless fat bastard fist you to deathWHAT THE FUCK IS FROM SOFTWARE'S PROBLEM!??!?!
>>736535001trvke
>>736535001but the shield in sekiro is one of the most versatile and effective prostetics
I found Elden Ring to be easier without a shield, and I'm playing through DS3 now and it feels the same. What's the point when the stronger enemies and bosses have these massive seven hit combos? Better to power stance or two-hand for extra damage
I used cummmfpk and I beat the game
>>736537659You didn't beat Bloodborne
>>736535068>NOOOOO, YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO SAY THAT!
>>736535001But Sekiro has a block as well as a shield for one of the special arms.
>>736535001Sometimes I wonder what kind of world people like you are living in.
